She was an excellent mascot. Like as good a mascot as Mickey Mouse is to Disney. She did hundreds of millions of pounds and the acceptance of a person being above the law(in some instancess) because of their blood.

Tories wanted a rip-off cosplay Thatcher. And that's what they got. Well, that has the potential to get interesting. I thought there was General Strike on the way, with her policies there might be 1980s riots back on the table. She really wants the full Thatcher experience, doesn't she. Derfel Cadarn
Not Kwasi Kwarteng’s week. To add insukt to injury, the Mirror prints the picture of a different black man they claim is him. And at the topnof the licture there are banners for Black history and culture. Oops!
The Anti-Targ
There are many things Kwarteng could have done different, he didn't have to pick the things he did.

mormont
I sort of think the clearest sign yet of the fact that Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng intend to make huge cuts to state spending was the (poorly researched and written) book they co-wrote ten years ago saying that state spending should be cut, not to mention all the times since then they've said that state spending should be cut. This is what these people genuinely believe in, folks. When Truss says there are major announcements to come on "business regulation, agriculture, housing and planning, immigration, mobile and broadband, financial services, childcare and energy" - you can guarantee that in all cases they are going to try to solve the problems by cutting spending and cutting regulation. Because they are convinced that this is the answer to every question and will ignore evidence to the contrary. They are true believers.

I am kinda curious how this is gonna play out with the level playing field clauses in the withdrawal agreement. Full scale trade war coming? mormont
These are people who look at the skeletal remains of the welfare state and say 'time to trim the fat'. But it's not just about cutting spending, it's about cutting regulation. Specifically, and with reference to the Truss quote above, they've talked in the past about creating exceptions to the minimum wage, eliminating checks on people providing childcare, removing environmental protections to allow faster housebuilding, abandoning housebuilding targets, removing protections imposed on the financial sector after the 2008 crash, and more. Which Tyler
It's an interesting one. Just how much is he the PM's bitch? Do the other commonwealth nations, for whom he's the head of state, also have a say? Could, for example, Fiji re-invite him? They may just be a tad more concerned about climate change than our current, climate change denying PM('s handlers)

Like I said, this will have repercusions on the UK-EU relationship. Esp. with the level playing field provisions in the withdrawal agreement. She might as well announce a direct trade war with the EU.
