Ran
Huh, didn't realize the date. May run into a dog show we go to every year. I guess it'll depend on the judges a little bit... That said, in the worst case, we'd at least come in on the 7th and be around to the 9th before flying back home. Arataniello
I'm pretty sure I paid for some sort of membership, and am planning to be there. Stubby and Luzifer's right hand
williamjm
I bought my membership a few days ago. I was a bit sad that I didn't qualify for the Scottish discount since that (quite sensibly) only applies to people resident in Scotland. beniowa and Luzifer's right hand
Derfel Cadarn
Worldcon24 are running a ‘library’ on Youtube of readings of books written by Scottish indie authors. One of the Worldcon people kindly narrated some of my Victorian Glasgow urban fantasy, Resurrection Men, and posted it today. The channel has other works, and will be added to. Edit: just realised thats just the video, with no link to the youtube channel. see below https://youtube.com/@Glasgow2024 Edited March 30, 2023 by Derfel Cadarn DaveAx, Padraig, Ran and 3 others
williamjm
If anyone is still looking to buy a membership for this, a reminder that the prices will rise on the 1st of May. DaveAx and Ran 1

Lil Red Head
We have memberships (attending, I'm pretty sure) for this and Eurocon in Rotterdam the following week. We've offered to volunteer at each but no one has reached out yet asking for our time in either case. I'm sure we'll pick up something to do before the con though, but BWB gatherings are always top of the priority list. :) Stubby, Padraig, Ran and 1 other
mcbigski
This sounds appealing. Way too early to commit, but who's down for Worldcon, Scotch tours and then on to Eurocon? DaveAx and Padraig
Theda Baratheon
Will be buying my attending membership in the next couple of days. Looking forward to it. Luzifer's right hand, williamjm and Ran
Arataniello
I think I bought a membership way back, I just started discussing accom options with a group of close (nonBWB) friends - looking at AirBnB as a more cost effective way for four of us to attend. Also starting to build the list of good places to eat in the old home town, of which there are many more than when I used to live there. My last worldcon was I think LonCon in 2013. DaveAx
A few Glasgow eateries I liked, from the last Glasgow Worldcon: Gamba -- One of the best seafood restaurants anywhere, with a superb wine list..https://www.gamba.co.uk/ Mr. Singh's India was where we held a BWB dinner. https://www.mistersinghsindia.com/ Over 800 different single malts available here, plus other alcohol, cask ales, and great meat pies.https://thepotstill.co.uk/ Ran, Filippa Eilhart and mcbigski
