I finally watched the last two episodes and caught up on the other SW thread. Now, I'm deeply disturbed.

Scot: how can you watch all these streaming shows on your phone?!? You can get a decent sized tv (in comparison to whatever followed you from 1995) for under $200.

So in your case... the topic title really was a spoiler!

Either way, I still think it's visually one of the ugliest shows I've ever seen, the animation and visuals are horrific, proper nightmare stuff. The story is at least coming together a little bit more than before and I feel a bit more engaged having watched some more coherent episodes early on.

I remember thinking the same when I started it. The animation does get better for the last season or two. Plus I think you get used to it.

I liked Tales of the Jedi. The only one that didn't do anything for me was the one that was basically a montage of Ahsoka getting stunned a bunch.

I can't decide who I'd rather be voicing her in animated stuff. I found Dawson's voice jarring in the live action shows, but part of me thinks she should do the voice from now on for consistency even though I prefer the original.

I'm also wondering if she'll show up on Andor. Just as the mysterious Fulcrum not like turning on her lightsabers at all.

I'd like for Ashoka and some of the other crew from Ghost to show up late in season 2.

At least give us a scene with Chopper and K-2SO cursing at each other.

My wife is very… frugal.

Regarding Scot's never-ending domestic story ... how do you post here on the board? Hopefully not via phone since that would be torture to your fingers. You can stream easily enough on a computer or laptop.

Yeah, that episode was more an easter egg than anything we needed. The first and third Ahsoka episodes were pretty good, though.

I could see her showing up in season 2 in some capacity. Season 1 is less likely, I guess.

Latest episode of Andor is up.

My thoughts are that this more than any previous episode, felt like very little actually happened. Most of the pieces stayed in pretty much the same place and the story only creeped forward a tiny nudge. Seems consistent with the 3 episode arcs we've seen before but this arc felt the least productive.

Andor being in prison does slow things down quite a lot, but I really enjoy the prison sections so I'm not complaining. There is a dilemma for the writers that they need to keep him in there for some time to illustrate the nature of his incarceration, but not too long and they need to get his escape in motion. By the end of the episode you can see escape is the next step, it's just taken a while to get to this point.

Other plot lines feel like they are going over old ground a little bit, Mon Mothma and her money troubles is a bit too much standing around talking about her money troubles for my liking.

I did really like the scene where Syril accosted Dedra Meero, it showed a facet of being in the empire I hadn't seen before. He has a sort of religious fervor attached to the Empire, as opposed to most people who seem to taking action based purely off of fear or a culture of backbiting and bureaucracy.

So.. I liked it, but it's just another one of those 'I wish they'd released 3 episodes at a time' cases.

I’m trying to figure out what is going on there.  Is he… interested… in Dedra or is he trying to get in with ISB.  ISB seems to want a certain detachment that Syril cannot provide.  So, I think things end badly for Syril.

Anyone else think Mon Mothma’s daughter is in serious danger?

It's like Scot is channeling the low tech ethic of Star Wars. Sure it's spaceships and laser beams and aliens...but sometimes you just have to pull the lever manually to fire the giant, moon sized death ray...no touch screens here!

Hahah, i was thinking the same thing.

Feels like it's all wrapped up into one ball of confused feelings. He seems to be grateful to her but also found a kindred spirit so maybe he sort of loves her? Who knows, I just imagined he was gay, but it doesn't mean he doesn't have some sort of crush on her in some way. Maybe they will be an Empire Power Couple.

Nah part of it is simply preferring the older tech.  Part of it is not wanting to learn the newer tech.  Part of it is simply curmudgeonly age.  It’s hard to believe I was 32 when I started posting here… and I’m no where close to the longest participating person on this board.

And you aren’t anywhere close to the “check engine” age I’ve reached.  :)

ETA:

Honestly I see no reason to be “sad”.  It’s just time.  We’re all treading water upon an ever rising tide of “past”.  It’s just time.

:)

I thought that was another excellent episode. The prison being a microcosm of the larger Empire with the oppression being pushed to the point it's driving people to despair based rebellion rather than cowing them into submission is an excellent touch.

I do agree with HoI that Mon's plot is starting to feel a bit like treading water, although I think much like the time in person for Cassian, the passage of time is necessary to show her being worn down by the pressure. 100% agree that the 3 ep arcs would pair nicely with 3 ep drops rather than just 1. That said, we had a stand alone on 7 so this would have been the last of 3 rather than getting the climax if it was straight forward 3 at a time.

Dude, check these out.

Made with genuine, multi-orifice, Roman pleb-wax. A right proper bargain.

You’ll take my wax tablet from my cold dead fingers.   I keep misplacing my wet clay and stylus for my cuneiform anyway.

Damn, Andy Serkis is so fucking good even when he's not mocapping the hell out of something.

I suspect I was late in realising:

  Reveal hidden contents

At least one of Andor's prison-mates is one of the commandos from Rogue One.

Andy Serkis is and always has been the bomb.  I rewatched R1 last week and caught that.

Just on this page, we have 4-5 people who signed up on day one or day two when the forum migrated from the previous iteration (remember EZBoard?). I think @karaddin gets the prize here by being member #293. What's the member count up to now?

I believe I’m #420… I was on EZboard for several years.

129,363.

I joined about 3-4 months before the move off the old board in 2005, I believe.
