Yea, but Larys Strong was never put on trial. A bunch of people confessed to giving him the poison, but he refused to confess to doing the actual murder. Cregan Stark viewed this as "good enough" and condemned all of them to death or The Watch. Larys was basically in the position Tyrion was in, before his trial by combat.
