Apparently in an interview Corlys actor let it slip that Ryan Condall told him dragons are made through an alchemical process .

I Think from wyvern and firewyrm stock like Barth suggests. Thoughts ?

Ryan Condall isn't the author of the books though, so dragons of the show may as well come from spaceships or be the result of deep ones digging too deep, too greedily. Remember show universe has black Valyrians with dreadlocks.

It is possible that Ryan made this all up for the show but in the books it is hinted that they could be made from wyrm and wyverns

Edit : plus George has been heavily involved in this show so he could have told Ryan

Barth's suggestion that maybe they created the dragons through magic is in TWoIaF and was in a bit written by George, so certainly the idea is out there. I don't know what interview this is supposed to be from -- got a link @Tyrosh Lannister? -- but it's entirely possible George pointed out the idea is out there, and Ryan then stated it as being actual, or it could even be the case that it's a conclusion he came to from reading TWoIaF and the rest of the books and maybe George confirmed or not.... I don't know, hard to say without knowing what Ryan actually said.

Interesting! It's always exciting to hear little tidbits about the world-building behind our favorite shows. If what the actor said is true, then it would definitely shed some light on how dragons are created in this world. I think the idea of using wyvern and firewyrm stock for the alchemical process makes sense, especially given what we know about dragons from the books. It'll be interesting to see if this idea is explored further in the show. Thanks for sharing this information with us!
