Which is nicely accomplished by all the actions/inactions you described, yes?  I am a constant voter, I pay attention to elections and candidates, and my own mail-in primary ballot didn't get counted in 2020 due to their incompetence; I worked really hard to get a handle ont he 2022 primaries and ranked candidate voting -- even WHO WAS A CANDIDATE -- which in the end gave us hardly any candidates at all.  Or why we needed to vote so many times. Imagine what it was like for people who don't have access to all the tools I've got.

And sandbagging is the ONLY explanation for Eric Adams.  The Cuomos were even more corrupt than we knew, and we knew a lot.

Look DMC, I don't want to fight with you about this; NY politics has always been corrupt and byzantine beyond any explanation by any single person, even political operators like those around Theodore Roosevelt. The criticisms and anger of voters at the Dem State and City Party machine has been growing all the years I live here.  My first year here, my first election was a POTUS year.  I got to my polling site and was told, 1) I wasn't registered, despite my proof of registration, so I had to re-register; 2) this wasn't my polling site, despite getting mail info that this was my polling site.  I spent that whole election day running around downtown getting re-registered and finding out where I supposed to vote.  I was far from the only one, as it turned out.

Sometimes you come through like Clinton wrangling over what the meaning of is is, which didn't do any good for anyone.

Adam's won simply because the left didn't field a strong enough candidate and split the vote.  Ranked choice had nothing to do with it - he won the first round by nine points.

I fully understand being frustrated and criticizing the NY Democratic Party.  I grew up with it and remember the days of Spitzer and Paterson and allowing the likes of Joseph Bruno run the state senate in New York.  I just don't see the point in positing conspiracies with little to no basis.

Yeah the fact he paid little to no taxes is hardly anything new.  We knew he did that in earlier years from that NYT scoop years ago.  The most concerning thing is the IRS failing to do a presidential audit his first two years in office despite it being agency policy (albeit not a law) to do so.  Indeed, the IRS didn't begin auditing him until - literally - the day Ways and Means chairman Richard Neal asked the IRS for information on Trump's tax records.  That's..concerning.

In other news, in case you worried, the following is nice reassurance that Biden is utterly failing in his attempts to combat the MIC and curb defense spending - Five ways lawmakers smacked down Biden’s Pentagon plans.  My favorite is below, which suggests we can sometimes take the military out of the MIC -- it's just Congress and defense contractors authorizing things the military didn't ask for and not allowing the military to decommission things they do.  I suppose instead of the Iron Triangle that's just the Iron..line:

You cannot square these two thoughts. It's a terrible movie in general, done by people who want to make the most over the top atheist portrayed by a super religious guy to make it just that much worse all for the character to understand why God is important. It's terrible. 

If you want to watch a good religious movie this time of year, watch Life of Pi or It's a Wonderful Life.
