Even with the sorta normalization of LotR, GoT, etc, I know a lot of people in RL that deem Fantasy books childish, escapist, et so on no matter their content. Fifty-three-years-old and I have a furry, googly-eyed monkey, a Gandalf, a pirate with springs for legs, and a Poe Dameron action figure, all jostling for space on my desk. Well the Vet absolutely forbade it, as a general practice entirely apart from this current cold, but she also acknowledged that because :legally speaking: that was a man taking a shit in her office litterbox she really didn't have any business, to say nothing of jurisdiction or inclination, getting involved. They even did Knights of the Round. https://youtu.be/ZcBMM3JsOPA Shame HBO is axing a lot of their animated content for cheap to produce reality shows about hot people boning. I think a advantage in some children’s shows is that that they have is how they’re forced to be a bit more clever in how they tackle certain topics. Also, entertainment tailored for adults excludes children by design, but it isnt symmetric, so entertainment geared towards kids can be inclusive towards adults. With that being the case, why judge any adult who indulges in the latter? Martell Spy, Ser Scot A Ellison and Ormond

Iskaral Pust
Considering the timing of the thread, it’s a bit strange that we’re looking at comic books as some new evidence of postponed adulthood. What about the very long history of men and women believing in a sky-daddy who will take care of everything if they’re just obedient enough? Resisting the responsibilities of life is nothing new. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” ― C.S.
