I think the Starks, at least Ned, have been unintentionally making blood offerings to the Weirwoods by cleaning Ice of blood from executions in the gods wood

Maybe an accidental offering, but it's not a "sacrifice" if it's not intentional.  And you may be right, but these certainly aren't the theories I'm referring to.

Quentyn is still alive.

you know , after reading the theory of "Quentyn is Aegon Targaryen and he is alive" , I came to terms with "Quentyn is Quentyn but is alive" theory!!!

also , another rich theory :

Daemon Blackfyre + Daenerys Targaryen = Dunken the Tall

Jon has more possible mothers and more possible fathers than any other bastard in Westeros.   Can’t swing a dead cat in the forums without hitting one.

True. But the best of them all is hands down Eddard and Lyanna, with Brandon and Lyanna a close 2nd.

Keeping Up With the Targaryen’s is my favorite Westeros soap opera.     :P

I think it’s fairly likely that human sacrifice is still practised in parts of the North, at least in times of crisis.  It’s certainly practised among the Free Folk  and on Skaagos.  I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Val and Dalla had performed it.

And in some cases, the execution of criminals may have a ritualistic, sacrificial purpose eg hanging up entrails in a weirwood, or carrying out a beheading, in front of a weirwood.

The Faith of the Seven does seem to treat the practice as taboo, but it features in other religions.

The Drowned God, the Old Gods, R’hllor, and many Eastern religions favour the practice.

And, there’s Catelyn was molesting Jon, alternatively torturing Jon.

There might be something going on here, even if the hips are not a clue.  There are all these king's blood plot threads.  And Sybil is a sorceress.

The hips was a mistake by Martin.

Maybe.  But what kind of mistake?  She could still be pregnant.

She could be, I suppose. But the different descriptions of her hips we get from Cat and then Jaime were a mistake, straight from the horse’s mouth

UNION SQUARE SIGNING

[Note: This report refers to the question of Jeyne Westerlings hips, described by Catelyn as being "good" for the purposes of having children, and described by Jaime as "narrow". This seeming contradiction has sparked theories that the girl Jaime sees and is told is Jeyne is in fact an impostor.]

I actually asked GRRM about this at the union square signing. When he spoke he said some mismatched descriptions are him doing it on purpose, and some are mistakes. And the mistakes are really unfortunate because it detracts from when he does it on purpose.

When we approached the stage for signings we had the chance to ask a quick question, and he told me that that the hips were a mistake unfortunately.
