No way Stevenage

My brother-in-law is from Stevenage. And since my sister moved there, I've kinda adopted them as my Shit Team Who'll Never Win A Damn Thing.

The whatsapp messages have been wild this afternoon. An my seven-year-old- niece is now probably a football fan for life. :D

The Spurs one? (sorry, I don't know how many sister you have, only remembered you mentioning a Spurs BiL). In that case, remember to buy her sweets on St. Totteringham's Day. You have to teach them early. :D

Yeah, he grew up in Stevenage. Spurs are his team, but Stevenage is his home town and he supports them too. Same as me loving both Arsenal and Celtic.

Oh dear. He's been getting a bit of a soft soaping from the press recently. Not sure how long that will last if he keeps coming out with stuff like this.

And his successor at Brighton somehow unlocked their scoring potential, despite Maupay departing.  It’s a small sample size for sure but they’ve been full of goals lately.

Bale officially retires, its probably for the best tbh.  He looked terrible in the world cup, and if he can't get up for a world cup for his beloved wales, he probably shouldn't dial it in elsewhere for the money.

A bit of a weird career in the end for Bale. He won 5 European Cups and three La Liga titles with Real but their fans ended up hating him and, despite being one of the best players of his generation, there’s a bit of a feeling of potential not quite fulfilled. Great player for Wales though.

Tbf, it's not like Klopp, Tuchel, or Mourinho haven't leashed out at the media. Klopp in particular has used this dumb question line quite a few times over the years. Guardiola tends to up his sarcasm, when he gets annoyed with reporters.

Yeah, but these guys have track records of winning stuff. Potter's won fuck all, and probably never will. Unless he finds a way to get his teams to score actual goals.

I know the quote looks bad, but when you actually listen to him it was quite tongue in cheek and I don't think it's a big deal.

Can't really work out why you put "despite Maupay departing" in there. He never looked a goal scorer at Brighton, and even less so at our place.

Though it does seem like Potter's biggest weakness is getting his teams to score.
