Maybe it wouldn't be that difficult. I would think a case could be made that they would get some kind of pay-off for giving up all the art and furnishings and whether or how many of the family jewels and art are family v. crown. If Queen Mary bought XY tiara, is that family or crown? Do the Windsors get paid back for the cost of renovating Windsor Castle in the 90s? I would imagine that it will end probably in my lifetime, but I would suggest that it may not bring you the pleasure or the money savings you expect.
