On PL clubs buying in Germany.

Palace have picked up Stuttgarts Naouirou Ahamada for 12m €. Bonus point if you just saw the name and said French player (not Japanese).

Anyway, Stuttgart made healthy profit from selling the 20 y.o. midfielder. He joined them from Juve for 1.5m in 2020. Labbadia not happy about losing him, but financial situation of the club meant the offer was too good to refuse.

45 million for gallagher makes the 70+ million we've offered for caicedo seem like value

We really need to be better than rocking up to brighton with those sums ( to be fair, we've generally been okay recently)

I've never said a bad thing about you Todd.

I see Arsenal found a way to go after a player that Chelsea is unlikely to hijack.

Modern problems require modern solutions.

Someone send this graph to Chelsea so they spend an extra billion pounds chasing every player in the green corner.

On the reformed Dyche: well, two other forwards I've seen them linked to today are Viktor Gyokeres (6 foot 2, respectable) and Paul Onuachu (6 foot 7, much more like it).

I'm home sick today, but still can't bring up any enthusiasm for paying attention to Deadline Day.

Though, got to watch Gyökeres when Coventry fell to Wrexham last round - he looks ok, and his stats in a middling team are good. Which sorta suggests we move for the other guy.

(Not least since Coventry have ruled out any moves for Gyökeres).

Regarding Cancelo ..

Part of me thinks it makes perfect sense for City. They have good cover on the right in Rico Lewis these days, left side works fine, and Cancelo hasn't been great this year. Not producing much going forward, and he has those lapses (like when Salah scored) that means he's more of a liability.

So instead of keeping him as a sunk cost (in a way), City let him go and build for the future.

Of course, the argument can also be that Cancelo's only 28, he'll rediscover his form and City have let world class leave without adequately covering for him. What's ultimately true isn't easy to figure out.

Eriksen will miss almost all of the remaining season. Expected to be out until late April or early May.

Big boost for Newcastle but i'd rather not have it, he could do with a break.
