95th Academy Awards (OSCAR NIGHT): You're all feckin' boring!

After six excruciatingly long months, the film award season is ready to bow down with Academy Awards. 95th Oscar will try to make people forget all the latest blunders - mainly that battery last year after which the entire room gave the perpetrator a standing ovation while pretending to have any sort of moral high-ground. It's difficult to be a Hollywood celebrity.

The ground zero for the death of any modicum of meritocracy will be Dolby Theatre this weekend where we'll probably celebrate the death of adult cinema as we know it. The relevance of this golden statuette seems to be questionable at least but that doesn't mean entire entertainment industry won't engage in what Cate Blanchett's called "patriarchal horserace", dancing to the very same tune composed by none other than their favorite GOD, pardon cancelled producer (whose name better stay unwritten).

But, cynicism (pardon, realism) aside, the Academy will celebrate the year in movies. Ten movies will fight for the main prize - Oscar for Best Picture. May the odds be ever in their favor. And in hours. Let's hope this ceremony doesn't kill all the joy we have left for movies.

JLC is not even the best in her own movie. I like the film, but that might be one of the worst winners in the category ever.

Lifetime achievement award. We all know this isn't purely based off of merit.

Just now, Tywin et al. said:

How dude? It's the best movie of the year by a wide margin in my book.

Absolutely one of the most original, not actually all that original, yet absolutely something new films I've seen in a very long time.

Jamie Lee Curtis' win will age like milk. She is not best in her movie, in this category, or in another 20 supporting actresses that have not been nominated this year. This is pathetic. And now we expect three Oscar acting wins for one movie? Jesus...

Banshees going empty-handed... Awful, awful...

I'm really slow at catching up to things,  but yeah it's on the list!

Haven't even seen Tar.

Also, I wanna go watch it at the cinema, thankfully it's still playing in some theaters over here.

If it was lifetime achievement, then Angela Bassett deserved more. And yeah, EEAAO winning will have a lot of backlash. It's getting too much.

It's not getting enough! Should have won for best documentary too.
