Football: Boehly has a little Lamp

Going back to the Nagelsmann story.

Seems like I spoke too soon.

Bild is reporting that he is indeed out and Tuchel on his way. Bild is well connected to Bayern in general, and Nagelsmann in particular (he left his wife for a Bild reporter, shortly after he joined Bayern).

Kicker, Spiegel and Süddeutsche seem to confirm the bild report, but there's no official Bayern statement.

Manchester United bid chaos leads to growing fears Glazers may not sell

"Concerns are growing among some parties involved in the Manchester United sale that the Glazers might have “played them for months” - and instead of selling the club they would prefer to either push up the price to create leverage for a loan, or offload a minority stake to a hedge fund."

Fucking vultures.

It's either the Glazers remain owners or the club is sold to Qatar. The price that the Glazers are apparently looking for to sell outright is a huge overvaluation - a premium of 50-70% (some reports claim even more than that) on top of the club's Enterprise Value. Hoping that Jim Ratcliffe or some other consortium of billionaires are going to be happy to overpay by a couple of billion dollars is just a pipe dream. Realistically, only a state backed bid is going to even think about going that high especially when you also take into account the Glazer debt and the investment needed in infrastructure due to Glazer neglect and the club having to service their debt and pay their dividends.

As for Nagelsmann at Bayern worth noting

- They paid 25m € to Leipzig to get him out of his contract there

- His contract is running until the end of the 25/26 season (10m € p.a.)

Fair to say, he is in no rush to take a new job. And that was quite an expensive appointment.

Clause in his contract, if he gets sacked before the end of the 22/23 season, Bayern are on the hook for the full wages, unless he signs a new contract elsewhere.

Edit: contract length adjusted and wages added

So Tuchel is almost satisfied with his team of assistants coming with him to Bayern.

Almost, he wants Chelsea's fitness coach, Anthony Berry, to join his staff.

Bayern not with their usual trash talk towards their former manager (might be wise not to trash Nagelsmann's rep and hurting his chances to land another big job with Bayern being on the hook for his wages for the team time being (see above))

So refreshing to see a positive and attacking England team...I'm talking of the U21 lads of course :P . They spanked France last night

Woof, though, that first half could have seen France up 7-0 if they could keep their shots down.
