IlyaP
(Caveat: I have not seen AM3 yet. It kinda came out just as I was in the middle of getting married, and my brain had no space for anything at that time, so I missed out on seeing it in theaters.) Seems to be par for course for big film productions. In the case of AM3, it was felt that the original ending would have been a retread of previous movies (with some folks stuck in the quantum realms) and also a bit of a downer, with the way Scott takes out Kang. So an attempt was made to film a slightly less dour ending, as the Ant-Man movies aren't really synonymous with DARKNESS! and sadness. Just saying, a new ending a month before release is pushing it. No wonder the CGI artists are angry with them.

This is something of a problem in the industry. There was a quote from - I think! - Chris McQuarrie, where he'd commented on how he was even editing one of the Mission Impossible films weeks before it was due out, because he wanted to get it just right. Despite, y'know - having the score and everything in the can. (I'm trying to find the quote now, because I'm a hopeless dork.)
polishgenius
To be fair, neither a director tinkering with a movie till as late as possible (which is much later than it used to be since they stopped having to send actual reels of film out) nor even a late reshoot to change an ending is unusual, or in itself a particular problem. That's the whole point of test screenings, after all. Sometimes they're terrible, of course, but often you just don't notice, or the reshot scene becomes iconic. See Rogue One. I feel like the publicity around the mess made by DC over Suicide Squad and Justice League has fucked with people's perceptions, made us think that it always happens just because production was a mess. In QM's case my suspicion, reading what the original ending was and the change, that Spoiler someone suddenly realised that, since there's no Ant-Man 4 scheduled before the next Avengers etc, they had to get them out of the Quantum Realm to avoid having to deal with that in said movie. Or they started writing Avengers and had initially planned to do that and realised it was a problem. Or something like that. Kind of like how they set up Thor in Guardians 3 in Endgame, but then switched the order of Guardians 3 and Thor 4, meaning Love and Thunder had to spend half an hour dealing with that before starting its own plot. Or indeed switching No Way Home and Multiverse of Madness meant they had to change a few things. RumHam and sifth 1

Out of all the things you mentioned, the only place it didn't seem noticeable to me was No Way Home/Multiverse of Madness. I guess those two films had better editing or something. Waititi couldn't wait to get the GotG out of his Thor film; I often wonder if Gunn originally had plans to have Thor in his third film or was he planning to fast track Thor out of it as well. Gunn never wanted Thor in his movie. Per JoBlo: Quote "To be completely honest, Thor was never going to be in this movie. Taika took a bullet for me. Because I was not going to have him in. I was just gonna start up and there’s no Thor.“ sifth
Myrddin
I was catching up on the previous thread, which ended on the discussion about Lucas hiring Nick Gillard, which sent me over to Google to wonder what happened to him (short answer: he's kept busy). Did you guys know he played German soldiers in both Raiders and Last Crusade (notably the periscope solider who got wacked.)? Now that it was pointed out, I can't believe I didn't spot him before. Ok, we now return to the discussion about today's Mandalorian episode that I haven't watched yet...

Myrddin
Maaaayyyyybeee..... Yeah, it was the previous thread from another topic that I thought would be of interest to this other thread on a different topic but with a significant overlap of participants.... So... Completely on... purpose?

sifth
Finally saw Quantumania. Majors and Pfeiffer were amazing..............everyone else, not so much. Newton was particularly bad, but I suppose that's what happens when you get your talent from the CW.
DaveSumm
After looking like it might go away, there’s a lot of noise around Jonathan Majors again, management companies dropping him etc. It’d be a huge blow to lose him after a lacklustre Phase 4. I imagine there’s some furious edits of Loki S2 going on right now where he regenerates into the Second ‘Patrick Troughton’ Kang.
sifth
It's funny how while watching Quantumania I could tell what was a reshoot and what wasn't, yet again. Heck one scene in particular reminded me of Samurai Cop, where you had two actors in the same scene talking to each other, but neither actor was ever in the same shot and they just kept hard cutting back to each actor to continue the conversation. They really fucked themselves with that mid credits scene where ALL THE KANGS are there and they're all him. That said William Hurt was an admitted domestic abuser and rapist and they didn't recast him till he died.
Myrddin
If they act fast, they can edit the digital and blu-ray prints to show other people. Kang shot first!
Deadlines? What Deadlines?
For what it's worth, apparently additional women are now coming forward an accusing Majors of getting, "gesticular".
