Zorral
In the end it's going to be the musk clown and a buncha haters, trolls, bots etc. That end may arrive sooner than Some believe. https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2023/04/can-bluesky-be-twitter-without-twitter.html Not that the alternatives will necessarily have better different results in the end. But hope ever springs. Spockydog
Kalnak the Magnificent
This is a remarkably horrible thing to do and threaten to do. NPR is being threatened by Twitter that they'll reassign their twitter account if they don't tweet regularly. https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2023/05/musk-threatens-to-reassign-npr-twitter-account-if-it-wont-start-tweeting-again/ Quote Allyn pointed out that reassigning NPR's account solely for not tweeting would contradict Twitter's inactive account policy, which says that inactivity "is based on logging in," not on posting tweets. While accounts "may be permanently removed due to prolonged inactivity," Twitter's policy says that users can keep their accounts active simply by logging in at least once every 30 days. "Musk did not answer when asked whether he planned to change the platform's definition of inactivity and he declined to say what prompted his new questions about NPR's lack of participation on Twitter," Allyn wrote. NPR stopped tweeting about three weeks ago after objecting to labels applied to its Twitter account. Musk, Twitter's owner and CEO since October 2022, had labeled the news organization's account as "state-affiliated media," a designation typically applied to propaganda outlets controlled by governments in countries without substantial free press protections. The move contradicted Twitter's own policy that said, "State-financed media organizations with editorial independence, like the BBC in the UK or NPR in the US for example, are not defined as state-affiliated media for the purposes of this policy." Zorral
How does one reassign National Public Radio to what doesn't exist. There's NPR and PRI (Public Radio International) but there's only one NPR -- unless he means something using those three letters? So what? Who gives an eff? Evidently not the @realnpr. What an idiot he is, and gross too, as well as ugly and a cheater and destructive asshole.

kiko
Why is my Twitter feed swamped with US tweets? I understand that those guys have some ongoing issues with guns, but neither do I follow any Americans nor any relevant topics. Also try to suppress the topics I'm not interested in. Shouldn't I get random German topics instead of random USA ones?

Kalnak the Magnificent
We will see if it happens but Musk announcing step down as ceo. Zorral
One is forced to wonder ... just what got him to choose this woman to be ceo of a social media enterprise? Perhaps ... the clue is in her NBC title: "NBC Universal Ad Boss Linda Yaccarino Is Twitter’s New CEO." Jerkwaddie seems to have believed the blue bird would deliver endless mountains of happiness in ad revenue ... which currently it is not only not delivering, but losing, losing, losing, making him one of the world's biggest losers, in tandem with we no hoo. Perhaps one can considers this choice too, in the light of the University of Minnesota's choice to replace the president with a guy who ran Frito-lay, w/o even a scrap of experience with administering an education system anywhere, anytime, at any level.
