Historically I've not liked him and his tendency to, well, not really compete for anything, but it looks like he was another victim of the coaching issue, because he's been every inch the player he's supposed to be when called upon this season. ljkeane Posted April 30, 2023 Share Posted April 30, 2023 I was a little concerned that tucking Alexander-Arnold into midfield in attack, effectively using him as an extra defensive midfielder, was going to significantly reduce his ability to contribute in the final third. It's also clear that Maguire has no future at club. He used to be solid albeit limited player but he's now completely lost his way and become a liability. He makes whoever he partners with worse.
