Football: Squeaky Bum Time

Man U's fixture list is not a cakewalk.

Villa and Brighton next are potential point drops. West Ham are still involved in the relegation battle. Let's see if they can manage to botch a top four finish.

We have absolutely no conception of taking the pace off the game. The closest thing we have to a controlling passer is Eriksen. Whatever positions we buy in in summer, that's by far the priority.

Another CB would be nice, but ultimately Maguire lands in the team in serious injury crises. We should get one but it's not that urgent and would probably a cheaper option who knows he's not gonna be first choice right away.

We do need a forward, but issues in CM is where our play falls apart. We realistically need at least two there if we can swing it- a direct backup for Casemiro, and that tempo-controlling guy, if we can find one.

You can probably talk with Bayern about midfielders. They'll be trying to offload some in the summer. At the same time, they are in the market for DM (somebody like Casemiro, who can actually defend) and proper CF.

Players they're potentially looking to offload include Mane (very likely if they can find a buyer), Gnabry (Sane and Coman are atm the first choice wingers and for the forward position, they are looking for one), Gravenberch (complains about not playing enough) and Sabitzer (definitely on the market). Pavard might be on the market, if he does not extend (he is often deployed as rb, but he wants to play cb). Mazraoui also started to complain about lack of playing time after the world cup, but he had been out for a while, thus he could play a role in ther plans for next season.

Not mentioned, but who I think might also be available Goretzka. They simply have too many midfielders, and Laimer will be joining their pile of CMs - yes, they have obviously been buying with a clear idea of what the squad needs in recent years.

Man, O'neil has done such a good job at bournemouth. And he was supposed to be temporary!

He has, to be fair, been helped by buying a whole new frontline in January, but yeah. And he's done well to get them firing and to use it properly to improve their defence as well.

I'm mad at him for dropping my man Ouattara though.

With our superior goal difference we must be safely in the top 4 now, SURELY WE CAN'T FUCK IT UP FROM HERE.

Also as a former creative midfielder (polite way of saying i hated tracking back, tackling, heading the ball or basically doing any work, think of me as a less active Riquelme) I've always been more impressed with a lovely assist. Our best 2 of the season coming in the last 2 games, Willock and Isak, both made me smile.

if I was a chairman, I'd just wait and see who Brighton were trying to buy and swoop in with a better offer.  Their recruitment has been insane for a few years.

that isak one was superb. i cannot wait to see what he brings to the club if he can stay healthy a full season.

big worry is the lack of depth when we are adding a European competition to things. i know the plan is incremental and smart acquisitions of players, but to really compete next season newcastle need a lot more.

Meanwhile the I don't really want to title race in the Bundesliga continues. Dortmund started this round with a draw in Bochum, thus giving Bayern the chance to retake the lead on Sunday, when they host Hertha. That is a distinctively winnable game for Bayern (or any other Bundesliga team).

Can't say I blame him. He would have spent the season with a target on his back. And League 2 is definitely not for the faint of heart (nor the brittle of bone).

Your comments consistently make me believe Green Street Hooligans is still everyday life in England.
