Heartofice
It does sound a ridiculous appointment but all Big Sam has to do is grind out a couple of draws and it might be enough to keep them up. They have the toughest run in of all the relegation teams and maybe their only hope is to low block their way to safety.

Consigliere
Report in The Telegraph (by Sam Wallace, Jason Burt and Mike McGrath) that the Saudi government is working to bring Messi to the Saudi Pro League in a deal worth £320m per year. Should an agreement be reached, it's expected that Messi would be placed with Al-Hilal (traditional rivals of Al-Nassr which is the club Ronaldo plays at). They could give him the team and not compete with it. Anyways it's on the scroll that he's officially out of PSG after the season.

Spockydog
Todd has spoken. I'm sure the Chelsea fans are reassured by his Trumpish word-salad. Quote Our view though was that this is a long-term project and we are committed to the long-term. We very much believe that we are going to figure it out. We’ve got the best league in the world, we’ve got what I think is the top city in the world and we’ve got an unbelievable location in the top city in the world. There’s a market for top players in every country in the world and each one of those markets is different. You have the Portuguese market, the French market, the English market so (you have) the ability to go to these markets. then of course you have to build a team, your coach is the conductor of the team. There is a lot that we have learned about the different markets, the global aspect of it all. The fans are demanding. They want to win and we get that, we want to win. LMFAO. polishgenius
Liverpool moved Trent into midfield at half time against Arsenal, pulled that game back and have since won five on the bounce. Imagine where they'd be in their season if Klopp had acknowledged that letting your best player do his best work was a good idea 9 games from the start instead of 9 games from the end. baxus and Soylent Brown

I was quite surprised by this change in Trent's role since Klopp hasn't really had a plan B throughout his tenure at Liverpool. Gegenpressing has been his thing for years now and when it doesn't work he just gets his team to press harder and hope for the best. The worst example of him not switching tactics was the match against Crystal Palace early this season, when Darwin got sent off. You'd think that fullbacks would stop sending high crosses in the middle of the box when the only teammate who could reach it there was sent off, but no. baxus
If it's obvious to you and me, it's quite likely that professional footballers came to that conclusion as well.

Iskaral Pust
Trent’s shifted role has helped him and Fabinho a lot, and it definitely could have come sooner considering the available examples of inverted FBs, but it hasn’t helped the defensive vulnerability of Trent’s RB role being easy to attack and pulls the rest of the defense out of shape to cover and makes Elliot or Henderson ineffective in the RM role . We’re now playing something similar to 3-4-3 (it’s actually the very old W-M formation), but neither Robertson nor Tsimikas are suited to LCB in a three, while VVD has more space to cover at a stage when he stands off attackers by far too much. There’s more balance needed yet. We’re winning games lately but aside from Leeds they have been only by a single goal and could have gone otherwise. It helps too that Jota finally found some rhythm and ball control (he was terrible for months) and now Diaz is back too. Trent’s creativity on the ball is absolutely worth accommodating but do we need a new RB, CB and/or LCB (and possibly a new DM) to support him as a deep playmaker? And Nunez is now a big question. His goal output has been decent for a new arrival but his interplay has been as poor as feared. Right now he looks like a very expensive upgrade on Origi. Will he actually improve significantly on that?
