Kalnak the Magnificent
Senate passed the debt limit bill, making it with...5 days to spare? I'm very happy we are averting a global economic collapse, but holy fuck this is no way to run any country, much less the most powerful and important country in the world. Dude, I mentioned going to my cousin's kid's Bat Mitzvah in San Fran in September. They rented out an entire golf course for the day at a fancy place just so they could use one hole for the ceremony and then half the country club for the party. Neither parent is religious. I cannot imagine what that cost. But hell yeah, open bar and I abused the shit out of it. I even took a few beers when they were closing up and the lady running it was not thrilled that I had as much as I did (put good tips get you shit). It was a night to remember, but if I have kids they're never getting something like that.

Oh, shit, wasn't even looking at that tonight. Taking care of my sister's dog tomorrow, looking forward to it so cleaning up even though I don't need to. It's just a dog. Plus been talking with Ty about how awesome Jews are at partying when their kids turn 13. Which is true, but kinda weird. Anyway, so the vote was 63-36. LOL. The House vote was larger as a percentage than the Senate vote. Plus the Senate vote relied much more on Dems. The only Dem nay votes I see are Sanders and Warren - that's a given - then Markey cuz he's pissed about not getting any clean energy provisions while Manchin got his silly pipeline. I see Merkely there too - another climate guy, then Fetterman cuz of the work requirements with SNAP. And..that's it. Pretty sure? Kinda funny that McCarthy got more GOP votes than McConnell could.
