Is he just really fucking dumb? What role does the NBA have in trying to figure any of this out for him?

What role does the NBA have in trying to figure any of this out for him? I've said for a bit now I think he has a substance abuse problem. I drink too much, but I can't throw my head back and hit the bottle glug, glug, glug style, which he's posted himself doing multiple times. Get him to a 4-6 week wellness center even if that isn't the issue at the core of this and the NBA should pay a few retired vets to go with him. After that I'd suspend him for a long time and put a lot of restrictions on how and when he can return until he's really shown change. Idk why he's overcompensating and trying to act like a gangster. By all accounts that wasn't who he was just a few years ago. But something is clearly wrong now and if those around him, the team, the league etc. don't help him this has a chance to end in an ugly way. But yeah, Morant should seek counseling/treatment at this point. Most employers would mandate it. Tywin et al.
Arakasi
Vogel to the Suns is an odd move. Especially five year deal.

Maithanet
It's not out of the question that the suns were the second best team in the playoffs this year. Denver looks like a buzzsaw. Rhom
Arakasi
Suns after Durant were the analysts pick to win the finals. Just they didn’t realize how little depth they had. With the new CBA it’s not going to get better.

Maithanet
Heat are shooting well tonight, making a huge difference. Also some really sloppy fouls (on offense and defense) from Denver.
Tywin et al.
Culture! That might be the only game the Heat win, but it was fun.
Argonath Diver
Wild game. Didn't get to really pay attention from behind the stick but I am just delighted to seeing my two favorite players head to head in the Finals. Both old school, hard headed assholes who are there to win. I honestly don't care who wins, I just want it to go 7. Butler's run is truly remarkable. And props to Spoelstra as well - I just can't believe how mediocre this Heat roster looks up and down and yet here they are. What a story. Maithanet
In game 1, it was Murray scoring and Jokic setting things up. In game 2, the heat adjusted, giving Jokic more shots but fewer passing lanes. Not an ideal solution but any means, but in a pick-your-poison league, that is a lot more likely to win. If Jokic is comfortably dishing assists, the heat have almost no chance. Tywin et al.
Joker had 4 assists. Denver is not good when he has less than 10. Anyways,
DMC
@Tywin et al. - Due to the Magic having two lottery picks and look like a roster close to contention, I've seen TONS of proposed trades while perusing mock drafts ever since the lottery. I disagree with all of them - including this one - but I thought I'd share for the lulz. Fansided proposed, essentially, Orlando trade for KAT and in exchange the Wolves would get Gary Harris (and his non-guaranteed contract), Jalen Suggs, and the 6th and 12th pick in this year's draft. It's a three teamer - Orlando would send Wendell Carter to OKC who would then send the 12th pick to the Wolves. I just..the only team this really makes sense for is OKC. That seems like a VERY slim return for KAT, and honestly his contract is rather prohibitive (I'm assuming Fansided ensured the money works, but I'm frankly not sure) for the Magic. Even if, yes, I've always really liked him.

A 6th and 12th are just rolls of the dice in a draft that has at best three players you think will hit and honestly KAT doesn't seem like a great fit in Orlando. I like your young core, just keep building them up and who knows, those two picks could bring in some solid role players. ETA: Idk anything about Orlando's front office, but in general across sports teams are being taken over by Wall St bros who want to speed everything up. Developing a team takes time, you cannot expect immediate success. Edited June 6 by Tywin et al.
Arakasi
Well also the media takes its part too. In baseball which is my favorite sport they’re always clamouring to sign the big FAs and lambasting teams that don’t do it. Then you see teams like the Mets and San Diego not doing well and you just laugh at it. Basically media wants the big splashy moves since it makes their jobs more lucrative and fun. Developing a team takes time, you cannot expect immediate success. Their GM is John Hammond, who previously was the GM for the Bucks - he drafted Giannis and acquired Middleton. So, I have confidence he's not going to overreact just because the media is obsessed with Orlando making a splash since they have so many desirable assets and money to spare (for now). Like I said, I don't think I've seen a proposed trade yet with Orlando I'd agree with despite them always showing up in mocks. I would be open to them packaging their two picks to move up if they wanted to target Scoot or Miller, but every proposal that has them do that also has them giving up some asset I think is a bit too steep. I don't think I'd be comfortable giving up both picks AND one of their core players (basically talking Carter, Fultz, and Suggs here). Anthony is the only one I would. I have a hard time seeing them getting the second or third pick without giving up more than you'd be happy with. I would try to target someone like Beal because he might not cost that much (his contract sucks, I know, but Orlando doesn't really have any other bad contracts to worry about). The problem right now is there just aren't obvious players available to trade for that make sense for the Magic. I think someone would say try and go get Young since the Hawks seem to be tired of him, but I don't think he's a winning player (not that Beal is either). Idk, it's a tough spot. Brown would be the guy I'd want to target, but he has a clear and obvious flaw that Miami made embarrassing and Idk if you can trust him to stay without a new contract. Yeah, that seems to be what the market thinks, but I disagree. I don't think Scoot or Miller are worth that much more compared to who they can get at six (one of the Thompson twins or Whitmore would be who I'd target). Especially considering this draft is pretty deep on 2s/wings, and a couple guys that have dropped and I like will very likely be available at 11 too - Keyonte George and Nick Smith. Frankly, there's the probabilistic argument that it'd be better to take two rolls of the dice anyway. ETA: Oh, and yeah, I don't think any of the big names out there are worth it. As you said, I've soured on Brown after the playoffs. Edited June 6 by DMC
