Raja
I'm the same. I...even reheat my coffee when it's not hot enough ( I'm a heathen I know, what of it)
A Horse Named Stranger
So Rammstein lead singer Till Lindemann is accused of sexual abuse (if not outright rape) by several young women. I totally expected the calls for solidarity with the band from parts of their fanbase and certain sections of the internet. What I didn't expect is 6 of their 8 albums climbing into the top 100 charts. Their latest album, Zeit, climbed from pos. # 29 to #10, the predecessor, Rammstein, from #52 to #20, Mutter (released in 2001) #61 to #25, their 2004 album, Reise, Reise, is a re-entry currently #57, their 1995 debut album, Herzeleid, is currently on pos #90 This is utterly depressing. What's wrong with those people buying their albums now.

I get almost literally no feed from my friends now. What's the point? This is so true, but honestly it could be the case that your friends aren't even really actually posting anything anymore for Facebook to show you. RhaenysBee
Cordless vacuum cleaner prices. Come on. Aren’t these things supposed to get cheaper as technology progresses and they are more and more widely used?
Mlle. Zabzie
People who send emails beginning “gentle reminder.” There is nothing gentle about the reminder. It is the passive aggressive equivalent of brass knuckles. Coated in glass. Madame deVenoge

Larry of the Lawn
I was rereading part of the Aubrey -Maturin series (set in late 18th/early 19th century) the other day and thinking about how cloyingly polite and "nice" some the letters and formal exchanges between characters were even when the underlying message was scathing criticism and condemnation, and for a minute was thinking "that's so weird, no one would ever bother with that today" and then thought back at some recent work emails I've received and realized that some things never change. maarsen and dog-days 1
JGP
To the OP, I'm a lot kinder-gentler than I used to be, but I still got a strong vein of aggro running through the center of me and few things get it throbbing like asshole drivers who camp fast lanes with no one in front of them for hundreds of meters [and often a lot more] Like dude, I don't give a f u c k if you'll be off-ramping or turning left in 2 km. Get in the slow lane until you need to make your move. Edited June 21 by JGP

Which also broadcasts how superior the courteous one is to the one addressed. We see it so often all over the internet too. True courtesy and good manners, however, are so different from that, and as recognizable for what they are, just as recognizable as the superior passive aggressive, "I'm so clever, while you are so stupid as not to recognize what I am doing ha ha ha". Starkess
I'm definitely guilty of gentle reminders. I'm not trying to be passive aggressive, I'm trying to keep from sounding demanding!
Raja
I don't even think they sound passive aggressive, to be fair. Just that everyone uses them and it's tiresome - if the emails weren't boring, I might actually read them
Deedles
Along similar veins as the “gentle reminder” are mass emails directed to a small amount of people - ‘hi all, thanks for x, unfortunately a small amount of people haven’t done x so we can’t plan for y, can I ask everyone does x”. Why are you telling me this? You clearly know who hasn’t done it, so talk to them, directly.
BigFatCoward
What's the correct way to start those emails? Somewhere between 'gentle reminder' and 'are you taking the piss'?

Deedles
I tend towards corporate blunt. Hi, as mentioned in the below, can you please ensure X is done so we can proceed to y on a date.
