Are y’all going to judge us very harshly if we try and use Percocet and a few shots of vodka as a painkiller for what turned out to be a dental abscess? For the record, it did not work, but I was too embarrassed to go in and stayed in pain for a few hours more than I maybe could have.

Dude, 4 am, I used what I had to hand, and trust me, dental nerve pain is among the worst pain known, I might not have minded accidental suicide at that point. Supremely painful.

People who indiscriminately mix "smart quote" and "straight quotes" in a single document.  OMG.  It's like nails down a chalkboard.

Actually if you are ever in the Winnie the Pooh ride at Disney, there is a bit of the text at the end with this particular error.  I cannot un-see it.

What grinds my gears is when you got a moth in your house and you need to get him gone by isolating the moth on a surface and then covering it with a glass/cup and then sliding a magazine under the opening to the cup to cover it which means you get to take it outside. I mean it's really annoying to have the moth in the house, but the fact of the matter is it's just not family or friend and has to go.

Ugh. I believe earlier people mentioned how passengers on the subway sometimes play music loudly? I’ve never been on a subway, so I’ve never experienced that, but I think I found the none subway equivalent. 
 

I stopped by Walmart after work today, and the man in line in front of me had music playing at max volume out of his cell phone. I can only assume he had it going the whole time he was in the store.

Conventions of older boomers full of smokers… such that I have to run a corridor of 20 fucking chain smokers to get to my damn car. 

God I hate smoking… I hate it with a white hot burning passion.  The only species I want to make extinct is the bloody tobacco plant.

Re: Carrying cash, depends entirely on where I am

In London, I carry a very small amount for buskers and people that are living rough but besides that, ever since the buses & trains went to paying by card, there's very little reason to.

If I'm in India, I'm carrying cash quite often

A particular colleague is grinding my gears lately.

He's doing QA and verifying that my tasks are completed, and is a total idiot at times. Now, I know what you think and this is not a case of "it works on my machine".  

Yesterday, I have created an app build for him to test one of my tickets, he tested them and verified that everything is fine. This morning he created another bug ticket for an extremely related issue to that ticket he verified yesterday. Now what is the problem there, I hear you ask? Is that not his job? Sure, and I welcome QA process to be as thorough as possible so as few issues find their way to our users. The problem is that he used a week-old build when he found that bug. On that I wrote "that app version is a bit out of date. please use this build" only to receive an answer "can I get the build to test it?"

The guy is ACTIVELY TRYING not only to not use his brain but not to use his eyes as well.

P.S. I'm aware this is a "first world problem" and just needed a place to rant. Thank you everyone for giving me such a place.
