Iskaral Pust
The PL’s young, exciting, expensive imports from the Bundesliga have been surprisingly hit or miss recently. Haaland obviously was a huge hit, Konate mostly good so far for a young CB but Keita never lived up to expectations, Sancho has been far short of expectations, Havertz has been skillful without really being impactful enough while Pulisic has been good in flashes but injury prone and not making a sustained impact. More senior players like Gundogan and Thiago were more consistent through their transition. Should PL clubs discount their bids for the wunderkinds to reflect this uncertainty in adapting or is that just typical uncertainty around any young talent and already factored into the going prices? Rorshach
We've got the attacking players right now, but we sure don't have defenders worth mentioning.

Funnily enough, more marque signings than you think are either hit or miss. kicker had a story about Real's ten most expensive signings. (fees in €) 60m for Figo hit 60m for Jovic miss 65m for Kaka miss (one good season than injuries and form) 73.5m for Zizou hit 80m for James Rodiguez miss 80m for Tchouameni tbd 94m for CR9 hit 101m for Bale miss (kicker gives a mixed rating depending how you look at it, I think miss is the apropriate label) 103m for Bellingham tbd 115m for Hazard miss. Corvinus85
Croatia once again falls short in winning a trophy. Spain did have the better opportunities, though, so not underserved. But I wish Croatia had won something with this team, even if it's just the Nations League.

kairparavel
We're in a hotel room, in Brooklyn for my birthday long weekend, and the sheer amount of 'banter' from MC during this CONCACAF Nations League final is going to be a test. Especially with 'were going to score on this corner' and then the US scores on that f%$@ing corner. <sigh> Tywin et al. and Corvinus85

Not the first good team to win nothing, not the last one. That Dutch team around Cruyff won nothing. The English team around Lineker won nothing (and neither did any of their successors). The Italian team around P. Maldini and Roberto Baggio won nothing. Belgium's golden generation will probably leave the stage empty handed. For Croatia it's now the second generation of a great team, that will win nothing. The guys around Suker, Boban, Prosinecki and Jarni also won nothing.
