UK Politics: Striking at the heart of the nation

the bar for a damehood appears to be pretty low.

Boris's Kryptonite (Pincher) might as well sack it off.  He was going to go at the next election anyway, run off with your tail between your legs you fuck.  Also a by-election in such a safe Tory seat will be an interesting barometer of truly how fucked they are.

My possibly faulty understanding is if Pincher leaves voluntarily, the by election will be much sooner, meaning splitting resources. Also, getting 10% of the electorate to sign a recall petition would be a hall ache, so he might style it out. There’s some movement of boundaries there too I think

Young people, terrified for their futures: Whose side are you on, Keir?

Starmer: I am on the side of economic growth. Security!

Tory cunt.

Right now, the person most likely to replace Starmer is Wes Streeting.

If that doesn't make you have warmer feelings towards Starmer, nothing will.

Starmer is just so fucking awful. Slowly but surely, people are coming to understand this. And as Mhairi said, people want change. We need change. Not just the same old stinking Tory policies, rebranded as Starmer's fucking 'missions.'

Hey, why don't teachers strike while they're on holiday? That's how strikes work, right?

This utter stupidity comes in every country.

But you'll have to give her a point - she has been through school and obviously not learned anything from it.

If this email is true, George Osborne is a bigger piece of shit than people thought.

That was .... quite something.

It's nothing more than performative, gammony bullshit.

Imagine seeing this headline and thinking it was a good thing. What kind of cunt must you be?

I think it's just that there is a certain kind of small-souled impulse common in the right wing that the poors should never feel even the smallest moments of joy, but should always be acutely conscious of how unworthy they are. Like American right wing chuds who get upset when people on government assistance buy steak with EBT cards.

Pretty much. It's why they don't bat an eye when wealthy individuals or corporations get massive undeserving handouts, but hate when poor people get small amounts. They simply have no empathy for the latter because they don't want to identify with them and that's really the problem with conservatives, both in the US and UK. The lack of empathy for someone outside of your group.

Reminder from across the pond: often cruelty IS the point. They see it as toughness/resolve/willingness to act.

And there’s apparently enough of them to make a difference in an election???

Yeah, that’s some strategy. And there’s another year of this.
