The daughter might feel she wasn’t exploited and that’s possible given she made a lot of money selling photos to a guy she might see as a silly old perv. Maybe the mother thinks her daughter is being exploited because it’s hard to see it otherwise as a parent. But it’s still probably very likely that this BBC presenter was buying pics off of her, so I’m not sure what the Sun is supposed to have got wrong here. My parents separated in 1991, my Dad marryijg a Chilean woman. A few years later in my mid-teens, Ingot a letter from my dad asking if i wanted to move to Chile because ‘people’ (my aunt and my gran) had expressed (utterly baseless) concerns that I wasnt happy at home. Inwrote back saying I was fine. When I was 18, I visited my Dad and his wife in Chile and learned that my gran and aunt had waged a campaign telling hin I was suicidal. The basis of this (so fsr as I can tell) was me phoning up my aunt years prior to ask if I’d left my toilet bag after ataying over for a few nights. Luckily my dad’s younger sister eventually told him i was fine and to ignore them. My point is, family can make shit up in their heads. The Sun spent decades paying teenaged girls to take their tops off. Their issue is probably that the presenter is alleged to have paid five figures rather than five tenners. This is a paper that is reviled in the north of England owing to its lies regarding the Hilsburgh disaster. That is a tool wielded by Murdoch to con the working classes into voting Tory. A wilding
It does seem that the mother and daughter are estranged. Which does cast a little doubt on the mother's motives.
Derfel Cadarn
How did the mother find out? Can’t imagine the daughter casually announcing that <BBC household name> was offering 35k to see her snatch while doing her blue steel

What would the mothers motive actually be? The Sun aren’t going to give her money for a completely fictional story. As shit as the Sun is, there is some level of due dillgence, plus the BBC won’t suspend someone if there was nothing there. Phillip Scholfields story has been known for years before it came out , and ITV had done nothing.
A wilding
Well we don't know do we? There is obviously something there, but exactly what remains to be seen, as does the mother's motives. But the current BBC management would certainly suspend someone just on an allegation, especially when the government has been leaning on them about it and there is a tabloid outcry. They suspended Gary Linneker for example.
Spockydog
Newsnight are reporting that The Sun made no attempt to contact the young person to validate the mother's claims. p.s. Not sure why people are assuming it's a daughter. Could well be a son.
Spockydog
If it looks like a Tory and talks like a Tory... Quote Ed Miliband gave an animated Powerpoint presentation to the shadow cabinet on his revolutionary energy policies, speaking excitedly of the hope and change he believed they would bring. His reception from Sir Keir Starmer, however, was decidedly lukewarm. “[Starmer] thanked him for his presentation, but said he wasn’t interested in hope and change, he was more interested in creating sustainable new jobs to replace jobs in old sectors that were being lost,” said a source. “He then said he was not interested in tree-huggers, before adding to everyone’s surprise, ‘In fact, I hate tree-huggers’.” The man is a menace. Heartofice
https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-66165766 A second person has come out and said this presenter was abusive to them online after they refused to meet up. Honestly none of this seems illegal or even worth someone losing their job over. In this case it looks like this second person was threatening to out the presenter, which in of itself is a pretty low move. Not sure anyone comes out looking good from this but if it is actually all just consensual adults then let them get on with it I reckon.
