Coat of Arms

Recommended Posts

I found this website where you can build a coat of arms. It's really cool! I decided to remake House Errol's since their's is probably the most disgusting sigil in universe (imo anyway.) They didn't have any haystacks so I opted for a cow instead. I don't love it, but I prefer it over the blob of yellow on a field of orange juice. Psa, I accidentally added two mini cows on either side of the shield and didn't realize it until I had already saved it.

And also, I made my own. I decided to go with the Paschal lamb since my dad is Jewish. White and blue for purity and divinity. And a cross of red for the lamb's blood upon the doorpost. To share it here I had to save it, post it to one of my tumblr accounts, then open in a new tab. So if you want to put in the same amount of effort I'd like to see everyone else's. :) Remaking ugly house sigils from asoiaf is pretty fun.

Have you seen this website:

https://drawshield.net

It requires learning how to write a blazon but it is the best website I have seen so far for making coats of arms, the level of detail you can include and the range of charges is great. I made my sigil on there (had to modify it a bit after as there is no peach charge).

That's really cool. I have struggled a bit with the list of charges, admittedly, as there seemed to be some obvious ones missing, but I might have been looking in the wrong place.

I have previously used this one: http://rpg.uplink.fi/heraldry/ It's not as flexible but also not as fiddly, and I've found it relatively easy to modify the results in Photoshop or equivalent as necessary.

I LOVE this, thank you!!  Check back in 48 hours because that's how long it'll take me to finish just one lol
