US Politics: Killin' Ya Hard With Hate

Not only would that be struck down by the Supreme Court, I like Axios noting the fact that the majority of Iowans are for gay marriage and that even if this thing passes out of the legislature (*twice*, even), the citizens of Iowa themselves are almost certain to shoot it down.

It's red meat for the extremists and a way to get attention for a handful of Iowan legislators.

ETA: WTF, this is from March -- the bill has been sitting without action in Iowa's judiciary committee since then and there's been no action. It's DOA.

Democrats should already be asking for his resignation.  Al Franken was run out for far less.

We sent a message to Sen. Gillibrand demanding, as her constituents, "You lead the charge in demanding the resignation of corrupt Robert Menendez, as you did with much less justification in the case of Al Franken."

Ah, ya, fer sure.  Didn't happen with Roe though did it?

In the meantime the Kochs and the Thomases, o my.  And he won't resign and nobody will impeach him.  So ya know mostly the faith you hold for how things are working in this nation is ... questionable to the majority of the people who live here, who see the majority wish of voters over and over and over over-run by the fascists and the grifters and the criminals.

The Supreme Court corruption and crimes just keep giving:

Different cases with different legal issues around them.

Thomas has been a known ultra-conservative for decades, it hardly actually matters to his decision making that he's been amply rewarded for making the decisions he'd make anyways. It's a flaw in the Constitution that nothing can be done about it, alas, but eventually all Supreme Court Justices must step down, by hook or by crook.

We survived Scalia, so this, too, shall pass.

Can we let the Al Franken thing go already? Yes, Menendez has done far worse. But the relevance of Al Franken's resignation to that is nil, and the comparison actually downplays the gravity of the Menendez story. Whether you think Franken should have gone or not, it's ancient history in political terms and has nothing to do with this issue.

Speaking of Menendez, a fellow 1st generation Cuban-American, have to roll my eyes about his trying to claim the prosecution is because he's Latino. He knows it's bullshit, but I wonder who he's trying to convince? He's a senator from New Jersey, not a congressman in some Latino-heavy congressional district.

I'm sure his defection to the Republican party is imminent. The natural home for those caught red-handed but who want to claim persecution.

Like the Dem elected mayor of Dallas -- who elected, joins the GQP.  That's how ya do it folks -- run as a Dem, get elected and then stab the voters in their backs and turn fascist publicly.

We have been hearing from friends in Israel -- the ones out there among the tens and hundreds of thousands protesting Netanyahu -- that not only does Menendez breach US security for Egypt, but he's very cozy with Netanyahu and his cronies, and has received many favor$ from them in return for  . ? . ? . ?  As one wrote this morning, "Fascists always find each other and snuggle cozy."

Moreover Menendez has done more to actively harm latinos than most.

Why no.  We wrote back to our  Sen. Gillibrand in response to her response to our first e-mail, and added Chuck Schumer to it, howling shame on them for what they did, leading the fight to force Al Franken to resign, while they stay SILENT about and to Menendez.  Voters here NOTICE these things.

Also the mother of a teenager made pregnant has been sentenced to two years in prison for helping her daughter get an abortion.

Whether you wish to believe it or not from your seat across the sea, these matters are all related.  And the Dems such as Schumer and Gillibrand are silent on all of them.

Franken, if he were still in the Senate, would speak out, while they won't.

In the meantime (hey, it's pouring rain and wind and storming here since about 5 AM and continues until maybe into Monday AM) did anybody write captions like this in the 1930's about Mussolini and Hitler?  I recall all those admiring, fawning articles in Forbes and so on from those days about both those figures. (Yes, magazine/serials archives are so interesting!)

I think he's gonna win. It feels strange and inevitable, and I honestly think he'd win from inside a jail cell.

Nah, Trump's chances of winning are pretty low.

Also, like Kal, you owe me your title.

Is Urban Meyer a head coach yet? I gave you both two seasons and that ship has sailed.

Title bets are sacred. You two need to pay your debts.
