Netanyahu just posted this

This is the translation for those who don't want to go onto twitter to translate it

Edit: I'm seeing some people saying the translation is not entirely correct and this settlement is actually in what is called the Gaza Envelope which is in southern Israel surrounding Gaza. I'm leaving this here in case other folks see it on twitter.

Google Translate offers a slightly different translation:

Quote

To the settlement "Ofir" named after the former head of the Shaar HaNegev Council, the late Ofir Liebstein, who was murdered by Hamas. Ofir was a leader, a man of the Land of Israel, a man of construction, a man of settlement. Here children will grow up and be educated for his contribution, for his heroism And for his sacrifice. We will restore the settlements, expand the settlements and add more settlements. The wheat will grow again.

But fuck this fucking vile PoS.

He got some (too few) interesting replies:

Dude, they took nearly 250 hostages and quickly threatened to kill them.

This is pretty funny - the threat was that Hamas will kill a hostage if Israel attacks Gaza without warning.

So literally what Hamas was threatening to do is precisely what you would actually cause by going in hastily!

You can't just wait when that's the case, especially after they also killed well over a thousand people. This is pretty evident now considering many hostages are god knows where and will probably never be recovered.

I think this is becoming less evident every single day, as they're negotiating for even more releases of hostages and appear to not be stopping that train. You don't do that if you don't have a good idea of where they are and how many are alive. I know that you want them to all be dead so you can say you're right, but it doesn't appear to be the case.

Hamas has a very good idea of how valuable hostages are. Whether they should be that valuable or not is another issue, but Hamas seems to do pretty well with actually keeping them alive, surprisingly so.

This is where Israel really fucked up. Obviously it's easy to play MMQB, but they never should have cut off the water and allowed food and aid in and done a much better job at precision bombing. It would have never been perfect, however, that doesn't justify many of their actions.

It makes a lot more sense when you start seeing that Israel actually is happier with a radicalized population that they can abuse than a more accepting population that they can abuse.

First in the reconstruction of the settlements that were destroyed? Who is the new settlement for?

B. Why don't you see here the wife of the late Ofir Liebstein, his family, or any medical woman? And what about the people of Kfar Gaza, they were invited? Or did only your political partners come - ultra-orthodox and messianic? Again you form a ride on the bereavement (for which you are responsible) for the benefit of a political campaign?? A boundless piece of vile man. Get out of our lives!
