I'm considering retiring there but I figured I should visit first before making a decision. How are women viewed/treated? I hear some of the traditional men don't think highly of womenfolk.... Okinawa, is compared to the rest of Japan is very Americanized. I do not really see how the men treat the women much, but I know women are getting more freedoms than what they had in the past. For the most part the people here are really nice. In some places they have will only allow "Japanese customer only" as they say.
