Bazzlebane
Looks like a good time! It was fun, though I feel a little bad that we didn't make it a group thing. But the plan only percolated the night before and was finalized that morning -- and it was a midday, midweek lunch in a smallish restaurant. We just need to drug and kidnap the Xs sometime in the next few months and bring them out to a Norcal party so everyone can hang out with them. Teri
After lunch (and a couple rounds of pints), we headed back to the Bazzleflat for absinthe sampling before they had to take their leer jet back to Sackamenna. Mr X., Bazz, Xray. Thanks for the great pictures, Bazz!
BLU-RAY
We just need to drug and kidnap the Xs sometime in the next few months and bring them out to a Norcal party so everyone can hang out with them. On it. By the way, I hope you guys didn't drive to get there. Also, Bazz, what's this nonsense about a 2-hour wait for absinthe?
Arbor Gold
Welcome back, Bluray! How was India? Happy New Year everybody! Best wishes for a wonderful year.
BLU-RAY
Welcome back, Bluray! How was India? Far. Fucking far. And crowded. So, like usual, then. It was nice while we were there, and unpleasant while going and coming.
Kat
Hope everyone had a good New Year. Mine was great! I'm glad I came to summer! Everyone should try leaving winter behind sometime. I also met this Chilean grandfather who is learning English by using English karaoke DVDs for Michael Jackson and stuff. And that reminded me.... Kat, you live in San Fran. You don't even have winter there.

Two things: 1) I hope you are taking a lot of pictures! Heading down to summer is a brilliant idea. 2) I was at a bar near my place on Sunday...there was karaoke I was thinking of you. I vote the next activity be a meet-up at some karaoke bar in SF. While I won't be doing any actual singing, I think it could be hella fun. Maybe towards the end of Jan/early Feb? Bazzlebane
I cannot fucking believe you just said hella. It's part of AG's attempt to establish "All-Cal" instead of Norcal or Socal -- she'll say something like "There was hella traffic on the 101". Of course, it backfires because both Northern Californians and Southern Californians will grind their teeth hearing that.
ztemhead
"hella" is so 2004 I hear it and remind myself to send some money to John Kerry.
Bazzlebane
"hella" is so 2004 I hear it and remind myself to send some money to John Kerry. That just shows how far behind the times Arizona is. "Hella" is so 1992.
Arbor Gold
I cannot fucking believe you just said hella. Did you not see the winky-face smiley? That was supposed to indicate "I realize I'm using a wicked stupid word right now..."

So who's going to be doing the karaoke here?? Is it just Kat, Lodey and me? FYI, I like to do it but I suck. You don't want to hear me crooning every third song all night long. Bazzlebane
While we were in Vegas, Lady Bazz sang karaoke for the first time in her life (she debuted with Love Shack). If I can convince her to come out to a BwB event, she might be willing to sing again. But I sure won't.
Lord O' Bones
If I can find a song that I actually know (unlikely) I'll sing one.
Kat
I'm the only one who says 'hella' non-ironically? You people are out of touch. A 19 year old who is on this trip who also grew up in SF informs me that it is still very much part of the vocabulary of high school students in the city. So I'm not hella dorky for saying it, thanks. (What I think is strange is all the people who I went to HS with who said--and still say--'hecka'...like that makes it so much less offensive, or something.) Teri
Lucky Pierre uses it as part of his normal vocabulary: http://asoiaf.westeros.org/index.php?act=f...amp;pid=1173137 http://asoiaf.westeros.org/index.php?act=f...amp;pid=1146034 http://asoiaf.westeros.org/index.php?act=f...&pid=899394
Lord O' Bones
I'm the only one who says 'hella' non-ironically? I still say it sometimes; I don't even think about it. And you should've seen the look on AG's face when I said it in front of her the first time . Hint:
Jon Targaryen
I'm the only one who says 'hella' non-ironically? I say it once in a while. It is unconscious. And it's usually when I'm excited. I don't ever really use it "ironically."
