Arichamus
SO, greetings all, I be new, and have concocted a brilliant hypothesis as to how the Sword of Truth series could save its marbles! It goes as follows: After totally whaling on the Last Evildoers, 'ole Richiekins decides to have a tour of his new empire, putting the SoT in a small box until his return, however, as the weapons magic leaves his mind, he slowly realizes to ghastly truth of what he has been doing. He has been working for the SoT's whim, all along! consider how this can be supported, the SoT carries the memories of all the Seekers before Richard, all their knowledge, everything.Yet all it gives is what Richard needs to save his own life. Also, it is fueled by rage, and is never satisfied by the killings Richard commits. My theory is this, that the SoT is semi-sapient, and slowly infuses its wielder with its desire for death, brutality, and horror, slowly removing anything resembling the Seeker's personality previous to the wielding. It suffuses the bearers mind with a terrible wrath, and turns them into mouthpieces for itself.Remember how all the Seeker Spirits spoke, with none countermanding another? that would be Richards fate, if he hadn't put it away, even for a time as short as he would here. Also, he comes to realize what utter monsters are about him, seeing Kahlan's monstrous cruelty, Zedd's spite and so on, even finding that his empire is a ghastly place ruled by pride, wrath and greed.Horrified, he decides to end this abomination, calls his companions together, and slays them.Grievously hurt in the battle, he takes out the blade, discovering that all Seekers had to power to destroy the weapon, in case it got uppity.Incinerating it, he collapses, and is sent to the Creator's seat for judgment. Sort of trite, I know, and rather anti-climatic, and never to be done in twelve thousand years, but...yeah, what do ye think, sirs, madmes? Black Wizard
I just saw one of Terry Goodkind's books advertised in one of those Amazon ad's at the side of this site.

Moosicus
I've seen the Tairy ad a few times. Right now I'm seeing something called Sinderella which sadly, despite the name, doesn't seem to be porn.

(sidebar and top of page). Since we already reached page 20 its time for a new title for the next instalment of our ongoing Badkind bashing. I like to nominate: "YOU'VE GOT MAILED FIST! The Shining Enigma
That noble pioneer of truth, Mr. Goodkind, never fails to inspire me in whatever way; he carries his art, as we can perceive, with a startling conviction, and always succeeds in administering it in some sense, for his usual everyday life. A life that must be golden, truly.
Moosicus
I must ask for a definition of "pioneer of truth". It's set off my bullshit detector in a profound way. Though that seems to happen every time the Shining Enema drops by.

Can Enigma be allowed to choose all of the titles from now on? ETA
Full disclosure: I have never asked for, nor claimed to be, a Lemming. That being said, I approve of this title. Well done. I particularly like "startling conviction."
And Triskele has my permission to claim to be a Lemming--albeit one of a slightly simian nature. We need more people around here who will say nice things about my posting.
TheKassi
GoodkindXXXVI: Banned the people who based a new philosophy off his books from his own official website for ticking My* off by participating in a thread about tolerance of homosexuals. Looking at Prophets Inc and everything, I'm scared for the word 'truth'. Still trying to make sense of what happened though. Personally I'm still waiting for someone to get a Sword of Truth tattoo only to find a cease-and-desist order in the mail over infringement. Hmm...thread title....
