Lannister Guard

Mini Game 51.25

Recommended Posts

I think she was referring to my brief confrontation of her also brief question as to the intelligence of Cargan not reading the rules. Margie thought it worth mentioning, and I thought her mentioning was worth mentioning, and both she and cargan thought my mentioning that she was mentioning was worth mentioning, specifically, that I was grasping at straws and that Cargan thought that he was just lazy.

Actually, I don't think margie ever did specify exactly what she meant when she said that it wasn't an innocent mistake.

Also, I know this seems like I'm attacking someone with little reason, but, as much as I love RP (and I do) I would like to get down to serious business.

Because it's business time :leer:.

I really, really, really don't like it when players answer questions for other players. YOU have no idea what Marga was referring to as to either of those questions unless you've been discussing it with her in privacy of your confessional.

Interesting to me that you appear to be both answering for her with an innocent explanation, then cast a bit of suspicion on her that she didn't answer an earlier question. Also you want to get serious, but end your post with a joke.

Some people refer to that at being "middle of the road" or "trying to look helpful." Either way it looks suspicious to me.

I agree. I asked you to go back and read, not for someone else to summarize.

It's been getting pretty serious around here for last 30 minutes without you, Fionn. Was it something we said?

Well, whomever would like to continue pressuring either Marga for not answering "Why Brighid?" or Fionn for being "middle of the road" will have to do it while I get some sleep.

And Marga Dearest, when I as a "Why" question, as in "Why Brighid?", it can't be answered on a re-read. It has to be answered by the person who said that something about Brighid was suspicious. You said that all of them were following the fad, but "especially Brighid." That's a value you are placing and you have to explain it.

Ogan honey, when I said reread I meant reread because Brighid was particularly noticeable in light of their previous posts.

too true, too true. I was being fishy there and I can only explain it by claiming inexperience which, obviously, none of you have to believe. I thought your question involved me so I took the liberty of answering it. I ended my post with a joke because it is my personality. This is a game and is supposed to be fun. While I think that now is the time for significant discussion, there is no reason we cannot laugh while we play.

If I seem middle-of-the-road, then that is just because I feel that way. It is early and I don't have any suspicions so I don't want to go out and attack someone that doesn't deserve it. Don't worry, I will get plenty belligerent when I think that someone is guilty.

Apologies, I did not think this would be starting on Monday. I'll read all these 3 pages and possibly make some comments before hitting the sack.

Here Ogan, I'll do it for you.

What? Repeating the same thing over and over isn't going to accomplish much for you here. I just re-read Brigid's posts and nothing really stood out, aside from the length of the post and the fact that she hadn't contributed much at all. But then again, neither have I.

You're going to have to be less cryptic though, because I'm not in the habit of psychically attuning to other players and having any idea of what they meant by statements when they failed to back them up with explanation. Trick to persuasive writing: Present the evidence, then present the analysis explaining why you came to your conclusion.

And to put my money where my mouth is, Marga. I just want to hear an explanation that isn't "No Teafa, you're too lazy, do your own work." That's not helpful.

I have safesearch off, and ended up with a naked japanese woman. :P
Still waiting on Varden to show. I wonder if he's a buff, shirtless, kilted Celtic Adonis or another River-dancing, hand kerchief waving, Morris dancer?
I'm not too buff, shirtless, or river-dancing, but I am one hunky man.

In that case, Ógán for now while I go to sleep. Random vote on someone who hadn't posted yet  . I'll be back with, hopefully, better logic when I wake.

Why do you believe this information is important? What makes you so concerned/interested that I picked out Brighid of the group?

Thank you very the persuasive writing lesson; however, I am not looking to persuade anyone at this point.

It may not be helpful, however forcing people to reread will maybe get people into the habit of doing it more. Maybe not...but I can dream.

What is this, a psychotherapy session? I'm concerned because you picked her out and have since then refused to back up your point with anything. If I waltzed into a room IRL and proclaimed that John Jones was spy for Mongolia, don't you think the other people in the room would be curious as to why I thought this?

Rather than being pedantic, perhaps you can nip this argument in the bud and simply explain what you meant, because my re-reads were not fruitful. I could not, in fact, predict why you thought Brigid stuck out particularly, unless the explanation was that she didn't stick out, and that because she's following a trend, she's evil. Unfortunately, you said there was more in a reread, so now I beg you...tell me what you think.

(And...quit playing games with my heart.)

I should have asked my question better. I am curious what you think, seriously, would be an evil explanation for pointing her out. Do you think that I would be distancing from my partner, casting suspicion on an easy target (who isn't one at this point really?)?

What I underlined is partly why I am slow to explain (the other is I am going to keep my cards close to start off). I want to know if you think there is something possibly evil in my pointing her out (and not explaining as of yet) or that I found something earthshattering.
SPOILER: Don't read this if you want to find out later that...
Neither are true.
Basically, what great benefit is there to my explanation?

Sorry for being away so long - it wasn't entirely planned.

As for my song being suspicious, read it in context. I had been away for a few hours, and just posted to say I was going to bed (in case someone found my lack of participation suspicious). So I just threw in a song there as well, allthough it's really 18th century poetry. Why? Well, there was nothing serious going on, and I wasn't in a position to start anything serious. There wasn't much to go on, and I wouldn't be around to follow anything up in any case. Nor was I able to think of anything worthwhile to say.

However, the discussion that follows is a bit interesting. I wouldn't describe Marga's style (in not fully explaining her actions and just throwing out comments) as evil, but it's a bit irritating. I would have viewed this otherwise if others had picked up on it as well, as it would then seem as setting up a target for lynch. So, it is a bit suspicious, but would have been more so if others had followed up on it, if you understand what I mean.

What are you getting at here Marga? YOU brought up "Brighid especially" and now you're saying that asking why is a pointless waste of time? You won't answer a simple question that you created. I re-read the sections before the song contest and didn;t see anything being squelched before I asked you the question, I looked at the "fad followers" and didn't see why you thought Brighid was worthy of special mention. Now you can help us understand your suspicions and decide if we agree with them if you'd just answer the freaking question.

But now it looks like you're just trying to play "mysterious master of mafia" who can't be bothered to talk with us and lower yourself to explain yourself to us and worse you are now back-peddling and claiming that despite the fact that you cast suspicion at Brighid that there's nothing there. So don't get all condesending. I find your curt answers and answering questions with questions to be suspicious enough without you trying to bully others into not getting an answer to a simple question.

You needn't say anything at all. It looked somewhat suspicious (read: more so than anything else thus far) for the reasons you point out. There has been little participation overall, so I guess I find it odd you are concerned about being singled out. Of course, your concern and what could have been an attempt to look participatory (posting a song) is what has singled you out.

No, your logic makes no sense. Why would followers, sheep if you will, make me look more suspicious?

eta- Ogan, you find it suspicious or annoying? There is a difference.
I wish I was a master of mafia...

I agree. It was highly annoying to find that several people had to post songs after I posted one, especially since it was pointless. Get more creative with your RP guys.

It wasn't middle of the road at all. It was more like a contradiction.
I agree. I asked you to go back and read, not for someone else to summarize.
People will reread when you explain. If anyone tells me to reread without explaining what they're talking about, I'll tell them to fuck off.

I hate that. If you're going to make comments, say you'll make comments. If you're not going to make comments, don't make comments. Players who qualify their statements in order to leave themselves an out leave me incredibly wary. For now, Varden.

As for the current argument, I don't really find anything suspicious about Marga's play thus far. It's not beneficial to us at all and it serves no purpose other than to annoy the hell out of us, but it's not evil.
