Werthead Posted October 3, 2008 Share Posted October 3, 2008 I really love the idea of a Sorrowful Man: an uber one-shot assassin who costs a ton, can kill any one target outright but then vanishes. The only problem is that when I got given one, his movement was ridiculously tiny, about two or three tiles a go. When I put him on a ship, the ship's movement became tiny as well. Either something's wrong with your files, or your assassin got some very strange traits/ancillaries. Check your descr_character.txt in \Medieval II Total War\Westeros\data\ and look for assassin. Our mod didn't touch any of those AFAIK, so the problem is most likely in your original game files. Have you patched up to 1.2/1.3? Do you have any other mods? Have you unpacked and if you did, deleted the two files as instructed in the readme? Oh and the campaign script is unnecessary if you used Gampie's patch. I'll edit that line out. On assassins, Sorry for the wait. [url="http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=193962"]Here[/url]'s the solution for the lazy assassins. Download the attachment and put it into Medieval II Total War\Westeros\data\ , say yes to rewrite. The fix will only affect newly recruited assassins, so if you already got an assassin in your current game, you'll have to find a way to get rid of him first. If you know how to use the console, you can select the assassin, bring up the console and type in "remove_trait this" without the brackets. You should be able to move him around freely the next turn. I'm not going to post my error log because it was about 2 pages long...I'm missing just about everything. I think it has to do with the data files (which I allowed to replace because there was no note about them- when you transfer them over). I'm so bad with these mods, I'm sure there's a simple way to do it, but I've uninstalled and reinstalled M:TW2 3 or 4 times within the last 24 hours I'm getting a little tired of it. I've got the .51 beta patch which says it has been installed but I have no idea if it's going to work///how it would. Currently moving Westeros_Total_War_0.5_BETA into the Medieval Total War 2 folder... I found a folder already titled "Westeros" in my MTW2 folder...which I just deleted. Still moving that WTW.5BETA folder... *sigh* I have 3 files and 1 folder in that file (the three mentioned, and the "data" file which I'm not moving yet). Just re-read instructions of how to install this thing, and I'm going to try installing the patch in the Westeros folder... Okay, now I'm going to try and load the game again. Install M2TW Install M2TW Patch 1.2 (and 1.3 if you want) Make sure your game is functional without the mod Follow the instructions in the opening post, read carefully in case you missed anything before you can check if the game runs before you use the 0.51 patch, in case you got a corrupted download Install the 0.51 patch, then put in the assassin fix Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
