First, the happy news can be found here. In summary, HBO has greenlit production of the pilot episode of Game of Thrones. It will be one of about 10 pilots in competition, and only about half of those will be picked up, so it's not all a done deal. But a pilot is a great start!

This is just for general chatter for those who are interested, especially regarding actual news as it becomes available. Discussion of speculative casting should be confined to the Casting sub-forum, but just about everything else is game.

Finally, on the topic of spoilers, *all* spoilers from the series should be marked as such. Lets assume that we'll have people coming into this forum who have yet to read the series but are excited by the idea of a full-fledged fantasy series on HBO, and we do not want to ruin any of the surprises for them. See the Board FAQ regarding how to use spoiler code. Edited by Ran

The guys at the Goodkind forums (yes, I know) had a good idea: two sub-forums, one for those who'd read the books and one who for those who haven't. Dunno if you like that idea, but I can see it having some benefits.

Can I make a suggestion? Can we change the name of this particular category to, say, "Series General" or something like that to distinguish it from the "General" category in the books forum?

A lot of people primarily use "View New Posts" to read the board and the subforum name doesn't show up in the list - only the category name.

I have suggestion:

In AFFC subforum Werthead has sticky topic called: "A Dance With Dragons: The Latest Info". In it he updates facts that martin stated on web site and on different apperances. So, in one thread all the facts about DWD are contained

Can someone make same thing with HBO series: all the new info about new Actors and so on. Pure facts
