What actors do we know are fans of the series?

As in the subject line.

I've noticed that some actors are being put forward with geek or ASOIAF fan credentials to support them. Avery Clark is the one I remember seeing mentioned, as well as Roy Dotrice, who must either be sick of the books (from reading them out loud) or a fan, and I've read that he's got a good relationship with GRRM, so does that make him more likely to be picked?

Any others?

I'm an actor, and a fan. I just happen, like the aforementioned Mr. Clark, not to be a famous one. I doubt many well known actors are going to be fans, or at least be discoverable as fans without asking them. This isn't Star Trek or Star Wars or LotR where it has a pop culture presence and comes up in conversation a lot.

Felicia Day, most recently starring in Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog (also played Vi on Buffy season 7, and creator/writer/star of The Guild web series) is a big fan, as per her comments here when someone recommends ASoIaF to her:
Gah that's my total favorite series! I think the next book has been delayed for like what, 2 years or something?!?! It's killing me! Did you read his other stuff? He has a series about cards, I can't remember what it is, Game of Cards or something. Oh ya, I can Google it. Wild Cards. That's it.:D
Check out the interview leading her blog -- she is a total geek. So cute. ;)

Alas, I've no idea what she could play in the series. Her hair would work all right for Cat, she's almost 30, but she really doesn't look like a mother of five. Ygritte maybe?

Oh yeah, I saw her mentioned in another thread. I don't think she could pull of Cat, I reckon she could be a teasing Ygritte, though I'm not sure she'd be wild enough. It isn't a huge role though...

GRRM should definitely have a cameo. I remember he was spottable in at least one Beauty and the Beast episode. Perhaps as a frustrated scribe?

A notable exception. And a delicious one at that. I have mentioned this in another thread, but I'll say it again now: there really aren't that many roles without exceptional demands (height, freakish beauty, etc) for anyone in their mid 20s who can't pull of either older or younger, the few that do exist (Asha for example) don't quite seem right for her.
Well we know the big muscle man who wants to play Gregor Clegane is a fan...he's all gung-ho on the idea. (This was posted in another thread)
Actually, he's not a fan of the series, he apparently heard about the role from a website. I doubt there will be any fans of the series showing up in the films.

Here's another to add to the list. Hardly any details on her IMDB, but by looks I think she'd probably make a good Mya Stone.

Am I the only one who has pictures Ygritte as more common in appearance?

I always pictured her as a peasant, no aristocratic nose and high cheekbones. Not that pretty in the face, buxom and fit, to be sure, but not pretty in the face. She's a wildling afterall.

You all watched HBO's rome? I always pictured her a bit like Scarlett Johannson (not made up all fancy, she DOES have a more common face) but with a face even more common still, with maybe bad teeth or something like brutus from HBO's Rome

I agree that she is probably plainer in appearance than these suggestions (I actually suggested Shauna Mcdonald* in the North casting thread - I think she'd be perfect with a haircut and a dye job, she's also Scottish). It's likely is that there will probably some serious TV beautification, since she's a love interest of one of the main characters.

She could easily be either Asha or Ygritte, she's got Asha's nose (prominant, but not at all unattractive) and Ygritte's hair already. She's good, too. Yeah, she should have a shot at a role, me thinks.

I agree. I've never thought Ygritte was hot in the face. Just touched by fire. :smug: The suggestions for Briene seem to good looking also...lets find some UGLY ...
