Well, it seems I fell off the face of the planet and failed to keep this updated.
Now that the pilot's almost done shooting and a series order (or pass) is imminent, I figured it was time to re-update this list for all the parts that aren't in the pilot.

This thread is to list all the actors who have expressed an interest in being in the series to expose them to us fans.

Non-actors, browse this thread and suggest on them official threads.

Please try to keep the text limited to self descriptions and resume bits, including skills. Please note that D&D will be posting a place to send resumes. This post is just to expose you to us diehard fans, who may then suggest you for roles in the official casting threads, which may or may not get looked at by a casting director which D&D have yet to hire (though D&D HAVE said that THEY've looked at the threads and gotten exposed to names they hadn't considered before). For in depth discussion, I'd suggest creating an independent thread.

I'll update the top with anyone who has worked before the camera or stage before who posts.

Please keep discussion in the threads that actors create themselves.

... I'm not even going to ask how long that took, Hound. Nice work.

I know it seems as though some people might argue for a sort of sacrosanct handling where chapter order and events are concerned, but the thing I agree most with:

Cut DANY 1

There's no need to yank the audience (like we were yanked) to a completely different continent so early.

Were it me, I would open the [i]second[/i] episode with Dany and Viserys. You start episode 2 with, "Last time, on A Game of Thrones..." and you show the highlights of episode one, ending with Bran's fall... have them on the edge of their seats, expectant... and instead of a tumultuous Winterfell they get Dany and her new dress.

Dany would still technically appear "early" in the series, and the viewing audience would still get to feel how we felt: [i]Take us back to bloody Winterfell![/i]

(Even though, secretly, we loved it.)

I'd like to add my name to the casting suggestions, if it please you.

My name is Shea Standefer, and I've been actively involved in theater from 1993-2002, including two professionally-taught programs (one through the San Diego Old Globe Theater, and one through the La Jolla Playhouse). I've been on a theater hiatus since I started college to pursue costume design and construction as a hobby, but I was involved and cast in an amateur film in 2007 titled "[url="http://5150films.info/Premiere.html"]The Adventures of Jay and Big Russ[/url]". I've also ridden horses competitively on the National level since 1996, and am an expert equestrian. (Just in case that comes in handy.) And, of course, I am a huge A Song of Ice and Fire fan!

I would jump at the chance to be a corpse on the side of the road just to participate in this production, but the character I am most attracted to in the series is Lyanna Stark. I'll leave it up to you to decide if there's any role I could fill particularly well.

Holy cow, Devin! What's up! Nice to run into a familiar face. I saw your pictures posted and immediately thought of you, but then I was like, "I couldn't be... And he doesn't have his beard... So maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me." Turns out it was you afterall! I definitely had some Lyanna/Rhaegar costumes planned for the future, but being part of something like this would be cosplay x10!

I wanted to mention to anyone who read my post that I would be more than happy to dye my hair any color. I actually prefer the way I look as a brunette than I do as a blond.

Strangely, I also thought Brienne at first glance. How tall are you, Shea?

Shea looks as though she has a face that can be just about anything at different angles. She has features that could go either way, honestly, depending on how you shoot them. Long nose and jawline - a camera could make that gorgeous, ala Stephanie Seymore (am I dating myself?) or just plain and daunting.

As Hollywood has proven, anyone can be "uglied up." (Or down.)

I would say Brienne of Tarth first, Lyanna Stark second.

(And don't forget Lyanna is only a flashback - it's not that great a role - she's friggin' dead.)

I'm actually 5'4", although I don't think that has to really factor into Brienne's casting considering they could cleverly shoot a shorter person ala 300 and make them look a lot taller. My concern is that I wouldn't have the proper body-type for Brienne; I'm fairly curvy, and while I don't have a huge bust, I'm definitely not flat as a board as Brienne is described. (Should this series ever make a third season, we do see Brienne unclothed at one point.) Thanks for the suggestions, though! Brienne is a great character.

As far as Lyanna only appearing in flashbacks, as I said before, I would be happy just to be cast as corpse #3 in this series, so I'm definitely not concerned about getting "face time". :) Lyanna is a character that I've spent a lot of time pouring over and learning who she might have been inside and out, and was one of the few female characters I really identified with in terms of age and lot in life.

Haha, and yeah, when I read about Shae in the books, I was so excited to have a character with the same name as me! (My name is pretty uncommon where I come from.) But I never really saw myself as her, either.

But it would be such a tiny role you'd probably be desappointed in the end.
