The Iceman of the North
So what are the options? In Copenhagen and Barcelona we should have a BwB host. Do we know anyone in Italy, along the French Riviera or Dubrovnik?
Isis
I hope on holiday! Alas not. I work in central London and live about half hour away by train.
Lyanna Stark
I'll be there, wherever we decide (almost) if only to gaze at Sean's and Barry's animal masks.
Padraig
I think it would be a shame to limit ourselves to only places where there is somebody living already. Any decent place would have got rid of BwB members.
needle
Barcelona sounds very good to me actually; and it's prolly one of the easier places to get to for most folks, being big and all Also, none too expensive for drinks food etc...Copenhagen would be killer that way, no? Maid Sansa
Well, as it seems I'll need to plane-hop anyway, Barcelona is as good as anything. I've heard accomodations were expensive, though.
Filippa Eilhart
I've heard accomodations were expensive, though. Not if there's 10 people per hotel room
The Iceman of the North
I don't think Barcelona is expensive compared with other cities in Western Europe. Anyway, it's probably room for you in my bed, so that'll cut down the price.
Bastard of Godsgrace
I think it would be a shame to limit ourselves to only places where there is somebody living already. Svalbard? Barring that, Barcelona would be nice. But what date would it be?
The Iceman of the North
Svalbard? Barring that, Barcelona would be nice. But what date would it be? Svalbard would be cool (in all senses of that word), but we have to go there during high "summer". Getting there might get expensive for some. It's around €220 from Bergen, the same as to most other cities in Europe, but from the rest of Europe to Svalbard the price is most likely at least twice that. Barcelona is good for me. As for dates, sometime in May or June?
Maid Sansa
How about a bit before that, April or May? Late May/June is uni exam season. I could probably make it anyway, but with a truckload of books...

mormont
Hmm. Looking at my holiday schedule, my chances of making it are slim. : But not non-existent...
Bastard of Godsgrace
I would prefer June or late May to April, since I hope to finish with my current work to then, but perhaps April will also be workable.
zakalwe7
We should probably keep the suggestions of dates and places open for a week or 2, then put it up to vote? just wanted to use that smiley
Maid Sansa
OK, how about if everyone just wrote when they could come and then we decide/juggle? For me, it's May and before: OK, June probable. I assume we're not looking any further than that, but it would be OK too. Now, all you working people, what schedules are you on? Edit: Zak, good idea. Edit2: Would Berlin or Amsterdam be out of running yet?
Padraig
On the one hand, the further away from August the better for me. On the other, if we choose a Northern European destination then May/June probably works better than Mar/Apr. Although people are free to tell me that some northern European destinations are quite nice in Mar/Apr. If not, choosing where may have an impact on deciding when. While some people may have days off during Easter, one will have to pay a premium to fly during those days. And also, people may have other plans during Easter. Of course, ignoring Easter week, airfare prices would be cheaper in Mar/Apr than in May/June. And I don't think any city is out of the running except for those we have been to before (Paris, Prague, Glasgow and Dublin). We haven't got a shortlist. zakalwe7
Prior to Easter is a no-no for me. All our exhibitions and projects need to be ready for the easter weekend. Busy time of year for me. Also the further away from the LA date the better
Padraig
Worth mentioned that Easter Sunday is on 16th April in 2006. Its probably wise to keep track of when people definitely can't make it (rather than would prefer another time) because of work or exams etc. We can hopefully work around it.
