From the page of House Mudd. The riverlands were invaded right after the conquest of the Vale, and both the Storm Kings and the Ironborn were First Men at that time. So I think we can delete this passage.

I made the change; thanks for pointing it out!

Where is stated that Aemon Dragonknight became Lord Commander of the Kingsguard under King Daeron I Targaryen?

I'm not sure this is said anywhere in the books, is it on the wiki somewhere? The MUSH has him as Lord Commander during Daeron's reign, but he could have been appointed Lord Commander by Aegon III for all we know. Unless I missed something.

The app states that he remained LC when Aegon IV became king, so he had been LC during at least two reigns..

Further, nothing jn any of the books on his status during the reigns of Daeron I and Aegon III

For many at the court, neither announcement was a surprise. Nor was it a surprise when he named his cousin, Prince Aemon the Dragonknight, the truest and most honroable knight in the realm, and named him also the new Lord Commander of the Kingsguard; together, they would find three worthy knights to fill the ranks of the White Swords. But then…

http://asoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/topic/58601-the-king-speaks/#entry2755283

So the MUSH says it was Baelor who named him Lord Commander, but it's not 100% canon.

Can someone who knows how do the following:

Clear all asoiaf.westeros.org and awoiaf.westeros.org cookies...

And then go ahead and try to log in to the wiki ONLY.

Can you login?

I am presently disabling the IPB-Wiki bridge with the hope of getting the wiki upgraded to 1.24.1 today. We do not know if the bridge will work with that version, and if it does not, we may have to go without it (and thus no new Wiki account creations) until such time as we solve that problem.

The reason for the upgrade is that it would allow us to pave the way to upgrading the forum to IPS4 (where we think we can quickly and easily dispense with the bridge and instead use a Single Sign On thing that should work well), and it will finally allow us to present a mobile front end to users on mobile devices (like what Wikipedia has for mobile users). We have tested a test install of the wiki on 1.24.1 and (so far) it works quite well with just about all extensions we have working properly.

Worked for me.

Did the lay-out of the wiki change since yesterday? It doesn't display properly for me.. "Featured Article" is displayed in the picture, instead of its correct location, as well as "Featured Quote", "Did you Know...", "Ten sister wikis" "Helping out", "About the Wiki" and "References"..

?

As Ran posted, we upgraded to the latest version of MediaWiki, which included having to move to the Vector skin as the previous skin was no longer supported. It seems there are some points of conflict between the way certain elements are setup and the Vector.css. Unfortunately, at the moment we are unable to get any edits we do to Vector.css to be reflected on the page.

Right, forgot to post. We've upgraded to 1.24.1. This allows mobile devices to use the MobileFrontend that Wikipedia has for mobile devices, which makes a much nicer mobile experience (except for the main page, which isn't coded to stack up as the rest does. Wikipedia solves this by seeming to provide a special, mobile-only version of the main page. Not sure how they do that).

But there are caveats:

1) CSS editing isn't working for some reason. We're trying to get help on that. Until it works, we're stuck with things being wonky: the headers on the main page are a few points too far down, and also the sidebar banner is actually padded out to spill out of it.

2) IPB-Wiki authentication is off until we've an opportune (aka not right before ep 1) time to work on whether we can get it to work with 1.24.1. This means that new members of the forum, even with requisite posts, won't be able to edit. Current members with editing privileges need only make sure they are logged into the forum, to get a cookie from Westeros.org that will then make sure they can log in to the wiki.

3) And of course there may be other kinks and bugs along the way that we haven't hit on yet. Please report any obvious problems, bearing in mind that slowness, lag, or even downtimes are likely in the wake of episode 1.

Random article and recent changes. Okay. Will look into this. It seems directly related to our Vector css problems. I'm considering deleting Vector and putting in a fresh installation to see if it helps, because it's acting oddly.

We managed to fix a few of the issues, but the headlines are still below the coloured bars. Looking at the css, they seem to use a class called mw-headlines which I can't find anywhere in the css...so I am wondering if the issue is that the upgraded skin has removed a standard class that was being used in the custom layout.

Ok, spotted the menu including the recent changes and random page :)

Encountered another problem. Trying to upload a new version of a picture, I get this error:

Internal error

[c853977e] 2015-04-13 18:34:49: Fatal exception of type MWException

appearing on the wiki page..

Displayed strangely above, I see this,

What page? We did have to remove something we had used for uploading previously.

Where is the delete page option usually present?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it used to be in the same "more" dropdown thing as the move article button.
