Regarding Jaime, how about "scheme to free Jaime Lannister"?

Quote

"Oh, for a certainty. You'll tell her it is part of my scheme to free Jaime."

Varys stroked a powdered cheek. "This would doubtless involve the four men your man Bronn searched for so diligently in all the low places of King's Landing. A thief, a poisoner, a mummer, and a murderer."

"Put them in crimson cloaks and lion helms, they'll look no different from any other guardsmen. I searched for some time for a ruse that might get them into Riverrun before I thought to hide them in plain sight. They'll ride in by the main gate, flying Lannister banners and escorting Lord Eddard's bones." He smiled crookedly. "Four men alone would be watched vigilantly. Four among a hundred can lose themselves. So I must send the true guardsmen as well as the false . . . as you'll tell my sister." (ACOK Tyrion VI)

It mentions "Maegor and Alys married in a Valyrian ceremony", it's Visenya officiating.  Might be useful for the page on "Marriage" subsection "Valyrian".

In tangential wiki-news:  another one mentions "Maester Yandel" by name, which means Yandel "exists" in the TV continuity as well, so I wrote up an article on him for the TV show wiki:  check it out:  http://gameofthrones.wikia.com/wiki/Yandel

To say there's an actual TV contintuity, considering the many times the show has contradicted itself, is an act of generosity towards the Cogman

Speaking of which, given that we're no longer limited to three Bureaucrats, I want to give us new titles on the wiki:  "Keeper of the Lore".  At this point, who is?  Us or Cogman?

Agree. He clearly failed in his task. And let's face it that "Prophecies of the Known World" indicates they are taking their titles and ideas from us.

Cogman duped us into thinking he's their version of the Lucasfilm Story Group, when he's basically "guy who actually read the books and served as staff copy-editor", then gave himself a grandiose title.

There isn't "a TV continuity" anymore....but I'm going to keep plugging away at GoTWiki because....one day there might be again.  Years from now.

You've seen the Season 7 writer's school interview where Cogman actually admits that it was stunningly unprofessional for D&D to promote him to a staff writer in Season 1?

Oh...which part of that do you think they copied?  I recognize a turn of phrase now and again, but we're both reading the books, so maybe just same source material?

***Major question, wiki doesn't answer:  which swords were used to make the throne, and which were not?

Work on the new List of Characters is going slowly, but progress is made. I've placed in on this page to work on. If anyone has any comments or suggestions, please do not hesitate to make them!

I'm currently wondering about the size. I'm not yet at 50 %, yet I've already passed more than half of the capacity a page has for its size, I think. I'm thinking about using templates to lower the kilobyte count (as working with a template would allow me to omit constantly having to redefine the style parameters (column width and text align)), but I'm not sure whether that will actually help reduce the overall size in kb. Any further thoughts on this?

Very impressive work. I'm not sure you'll save that much by using templates, but would have to research it.

I believe the default of WgMaxPageSize is 2048kb. I can change this to be higher, but Mediawiki's page does suggest that the preferred way to handle this is to split a page up into smaller articles. I think we also have a PHP upload limit of some sort that might come into effect if there's too much text, but I can't imagine there's going to be more than 2MB of raw text, so I don't think that should be an issue.

Is it necessary to distinct THK, TSS, TMK and TSotD, TRP, TPatQ? We don't make distinctions in the chapters in the main novels and the world book. So maybe AKotSK and F&B are suffice. This would also save much are more labors.

We distinguish each of those texts in each character's infobox, which is why I chose to do it here as well. But should we indeed run out of space, changing THK, TSS , and TMK for AKOTSK might indeed be a  idea! :)

Trying to come up with a name for an article on the skirmishes between the Freys and Addam Marbrand's outriders early in the War of the 5 Kings. Any ideas?

Sir Heartsalot is great, but this should be on the Battle Above the God's Eye page.

His piece on the Redgrass Field and the destruction of Harrenhal are also excellent.

Does anyone here have an account on that website through which to contact the artist by any chance?

The text calls it "fighting between Ser Addam's men and Lord Walder's", so perhaps (if the usage of first names is not preferred), "fighting between Marbrand's outriders and the Frey's"?

Aren't they just! Although I downloaded the app some time ago, I haven't got round to using it yet. How does that go anyway? Get permission from the artist, screenshot that, & all good to upload?
