A left-field suggestion about casting the Dorne characters

Disregarding the physical description of the characters in the books, and going in a different direction:

Doran Martell: Yaphet Kotto ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001433/ ) or, maybe, Dennis Haysbert ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0371660/ )

Oberyn Martell: Harold Perrineau ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0674782/ )

or, perhaps, Chiwetel Ejiofor ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0252230/ )

Elia Martell: Benu Mabhena ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2335116/ )

Arthur Dayne: Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje

( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0015382/ ) or else Djimon Hounsou

Darkstar: Elijah Kelley ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0445903/ ) or, for an older choice, Adrian Lester ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0504412/ )

Arianne Martell: Meagan Good ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0328709/ )

Sorry but I'm another no... Not exotic enough. Not to mention that it is made clear that most (if not all) characters of dark colouring are from the Summer Isles :)

I'd be down for some ebony in the Dornish, if it wasn't for the Summer Islander thing. If you wiped the Summer Isles completely off the televisual map then it could be a goer.

Arabian is as far into Africa as the Dornish look could go unfortunately.

Would a prospective black king in Westeros (which they would have got eventually had Bob not rebelled) be realistic, even in a story where there aren't any overtly racist main characters?

The series will be filmed in the UK, and there the number of Indians or Pakistanis is much higher than the black population. So I don't really think there's any reason to change the intended etnicity of the Dornishmen whith no aparent reason.

Besides, rumors indicate that the scenes in Essos might be filmed in Morocco. And since the Roynish people come from there, they should try to keep the consistency.

Moreover, should they portray the sons or Rhaegar, or the decendants of Daeon II as mulattos?

Doesn't work for me.

I have a feeling the Summer Isles are going to take a more prominent role on futures books - we already started to have more characters from there in AFFC. Assuming that's true, well, any black actors will need to be playing characters from there.
