Andhaira
Do you think Martin should have a cameo role in the series? If so as who? I think he would make a good Illyrio, if he wasn't so old.
RnRPaintGrL
Without a doubt. Lots of authors do, but can be difficult to spot. I'd think a septon, someone in the backround of a big scene where its like a "Where's Waldo" Trying to find him.
TrueMetis
As long as he doesn't do a Stan Lee style of Camo were he walks up and talks to the main character it's just annoying.
Ran
He's not going to have any significant speaking part, no. He's not an actor. He was in the background of a "Beauty and the Beast" episode or two, as I recall, and I won't be surprised if he's in a background scene in GoT; the feast scene in the pilot would be a good time to do something like that, I suppose. Or perhaps he'll be some background maester, glimpsed in passing in King's Landing or some such.
Andhaira
lol yeah Stan Lee does over do it. I wonder if he has made it a clause that he must appear in every marvel movie. But anyway, GRRM could also play a Septon or a grandmaester.
The Pita
He should be lord Manderly.
Gytha Ogg
Yeah, he should definitely be in the background somewhere, perhaps as a septon or merchant in the background at King's Landing. A bit of an easter egg for fans of the books.
Silverstar
I think the whole BwB should have cameos. We'd make awesome wildlings. Or corpses.
Black Wizard
He should be lord Manderly.I think Ian McNeice should get that role.
Brude
He should be lord Manderly.I was thinking he'll end up being Lord Manderly's very quiet brother...the one so quiet, GRRM forgot to mention him in the books but he was there the whole time...or at least until he got brutally cut down at the Wispering Wood (or was it the Green Fork?). Werthead
I was thinking a far more interesting idea would be to use GRRM as a model for a statue, maybe of a Stark ancestor in the crypts. He'd be in several episodes then ;)
Tycho
I think the whole BwB should have cameos. We'd make awesome wildlings. Or corpses. We should be so lucky. I think he'll probably make it into a feast scene or two. Maybe one of the weddings. Though i really like Werthead's idea of a statue.
lady narcissa
I think he should do an Alfred Hitchcock and just slip through a scene.
Prince Rhaegar Targaryen
GRRM could play the guy that gets GREGORed in the duell against Oberyn, he'd probably like that :spank:
antisocial
Steven King does good cameos. I still think he appears in the newer movies, but Im not 100% sure.
SpaceNinja
Do you think Martin should have a cameo role in the series?Certainly. In a non-speaking background role of some sort.
Maester Joergensen
I think it is a very cool idea. And very likely to. But probably first later. After Dance is finished. But not a speaking part. Somewhere in the background. He is not and actor. And it will also make it harder (more fun) to try and spot him.
Maggi
Yes, lets lop off his head in the pilot. There's not alot of lines. Probably would'nt know him with no ears, missing fingers, and bieng gruff.
back_packn
The ONLY part that would be perfect for a GRRM cameo would be a feast scene. A quick shot showing GRRM chowing down on some of that scump-a-liceous food he so lovingly describes.
Xanrn
Well its a big early, but he could have a good Cameo as a Wight in the attack on the Fist.Or one of the Wildling Wights from the Prologue of aGoT if they have that in.
