And here we go again. :D

Remember the rules

1) DO NOT FEED THE YEARD

2) No Flaming

3) No trolling or inciting others to troll on other boards

4) Do not stare into the Yeard, lest the Yeard stare back into you

Have fun, and play nice.

What about on tropes nice little "It just bugs me.." section? Not a yeardite site and that is where rants are meant to go. BTW I must amidt that getting myself drunk is hard when reading the brilliant WFR, I can't stand beer for one or most wines, should I maybe try something with a higher alchohol level?

I recommend cactus juice for Tairy.

Just wondering how bad it would be if someone posted Jax's rant on a certain forum...

I'm itching to do it but I want to play nice with the Yeardites. Maybe if we can polite it up I will.

FUCK'S. SAKE.

Seriously, can we STOP all this trolling shit? It's just embarrassing and makes this forum look bad. Be smart, guys.

[mod] Min is correct. We will not allow people to use this board to stir up trouble on other boards or to run an 'anti-Goodkind' faction.

These threads are supposed to be a discussion of Terry Goodkind's books, and that's all that will be allowed in these threads. Any suggestion of anything else, and the thread gets closed. [/mod]

Everyone the brilliance is truley astounding me! I just read where Richard gets captured by the Mord sith who are obviously evil and Goodkind in his brilliance decided to make it clear to me the reader by having them enjoy torturing Richard with an agiel desrbing every feeling hee has as he is tortured. NOw if this were any other author I'd think this was an example of gratuitious and unecessarry violence but with Tairy its obviously necessary so we know that thhe Mord Sith is Evil. Than we have the mord sith take him to the queren and the princess that he met earlier, now for some reason the princess decides to torture richard (I couldn't think why she would do that) and talk about killing Kahlan while this is happpening Richard seems to feel sorry for the girl until he kicks her in the jaw causing her to lose her toungue. Now if this were any other author I'd think that this was richard being a psycho but because its Goodkind its BRILLIANT!

btw has anyone read the responces to the one star reveiws of LO9 on amazon?

I spent half of the book wondering what Jax's last name would be when Alex saw her sign it in the visitor book at the hospital and all sorts of theories came into my mind. The one that stuck (wrong as it turned out) was that maybe her last name was Meiffert because she reminded me a little of Cara in some ways. But I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered it was Amnell. (Yay)

Strange that most of us, who have not read the book, had as first thought Amnell as last name for Jax.

You mean this little gem? :D

The cold war as you state it may be outdated, but there is nothing outdated about the rise of fabian socialism and the immorality of virtually ever single program initiated by the U.S. government over the past 6 months. That why this book is so sacred and relevant, and for some, their last refuge. Remember in your hate you only betray yourselves. Leave now and do not return.

(Bolding by me.)

So, TO9 is the new Bible?

If someone were to pick this book up, but have the misfortune of not having read the Sword of Truth books, then this sorry tale would perhaps rate half a star. In other words, if you liked this book, you will love George R. R. Martin's books.

wtf?

Just read through most of the reviews at Amazon and I've got to say that a lot of them sound like paid professional reviews. I noticed a lot of the same points being made, many of which sounded rather out of place in a normal customer review, but would certainly have shown up if someone were following a (the same) list of bulletted points.

"Very good even if you havent read any of TG's SoT books" was a main point I saw a lot. But what a strange point to make about a book that isn't even supposed to have anything to do at all with that other series. Wtf do they think "Standalone" means?

Also a lot of references to "nods" and "winks" to Tairy's long time fans. Seriously, concrete tie-ins that clearly make the book a sequel to Tairy's other books are more than just "nods" and "winks", and every single reviewer who suggested otherwise was demonstrably literate enough to know the difference.

 Yep and apparently it is the next bible.

The Church of Jaw Kicking Truth

Tairy is the God of Self Delusion and Stupid Philosophy, Alex Rahl his Archangel of Vengeance who will drive all those evil magic commies back to hell, and Jax is the Virgin Prophetess of Hot BDSM Sex. :P

Btw, is there an evil chicken in TO9?

That's a good point. Goodkind sits down to write what is clearly a parody of his own works and leaves out the chicken. It seems to cheapen the effort somehow. Or maybe he just thought it was too obvious. Goodkind is a more refined sort of writer. He doesn't go for the easy jabs, but instead adopts of holistic approach to parody, attempting to capture the tone and texture of the subject rather than just its gaudy avian trappings.

Or possibly he's just saving the chicken for a later book.

On the subject of Goodkind and parody, I am really impressed with the leaps and bounds Goodkind seems to have taken when parodying real life political figures. He started, back in Soul of the Fire, as quite an insecure parody artist. Lacking belief in his own ability to capture the essence of his subject he felt compelled to label the character with the same initials as the target, and furthermore to label the character's wife with the same initials as the target's wife, so that people would understand who he was talking about. Fast forward to 2009 and now Goodkind has cast aside initial-based parody and embraced the new, more open, catchphrase based standard. I fully believe that given time and nurture, Goodkind will grow into a true parody genius need neither initials nor catchphrases to ensure that people know who he's talking about.

Well everyone bad news I left the book at my parents house on labor day and my Dad called me about it. I thought I told him to bring in to me so I could finish such a brilliant book. But he thought I meant b4ring it back to the Public Library. So I will unfortunately not be able to behold theBRILLIANTending.

BTW I have changed my avatar to show the BRILLIANCE that is jaw kicking.
