Goodkind XLVI: Behold the BRILLIANCE

Oooo... there's a countdown on the frontpage of TerryGoodkind.com that ends at midnight tomorrow. The suspense is killing me!

Oh joy.

And a stupid code (or is it... a Cypher?) as well, above the counter. For those who don't feel like cracking it themselves:

Spoiler

It says "beware of the", written in hexadecimal ascii codes.

Should we have a guessing contest on what he thinks we should beware of?

All in all, I don't see the need for any change in my auto-erotic activities at all at this point.

ETA: My guess is of course "socialist death choosers".

It's probably an announcement for Law of Tens, releasing 10/10/10. He's going to have one release each year until 13/13/13, in which he will demand an extra month be added to the year/switch to the Jewish calendar, which has an extra month every few years, and I think it might in 2013, not sure.

LOL. April Fools.

I have an account over at DeviantArt that I haven't touched in over a year. I basically used it to upload Goodkind related scribblings and then forgot about it until today. For April Fools Day the management of the website replaced everyone's icons with Images related to Twilight, Lady Gaga, and... Legend of the Seeker.

I was lucky enough to get this icon.

They also changed my signature to:

Rock, paper, scissors thumbs up for 'Legend of the Seeker'!

Enthusiastically using Powerful Magicâ„¢ since 2008.

Christ freaking preserve. It is a new SoT novel.

I am speechless. That is actually worse then the a LoN sequel.

All I get when I check out the site is a black screen, which I guess I should be thankful for.

Does this mean that LoN sold so abysmally that Goodkind has decided to abandon writing "thrillers" and gone back to the relative safety of fantasy-that-is-not-fantasy?

A little shockwave movie plays. It says:

Terry Goodkind proudly presents

Beware of Omens

A new Richard and Kahlan Novel. Coming early 2011

So yeah, abandoning "thrillers" and going back to fantasy. Thrillers in quotes because LoN was cliche fantasy.

I know I am a yeardite and all, but I really wish Mister Goodkind would just be normal. Then I could be all like "Yay! New SoT stuff." Rather then "Wait a minute, what about all that shit you talked dick?"

Ahh well.

I can only assume that his foray into the realm of "Thrillers" didn't net him quite as many Accolades (as much cash) as he was hoping for.. and now hes come back to the Genre he claimed to be above.. to continue milking his cash cow..

I wonder what spurred it on... Law of Nines rotting in the Discount bin at every major book seller in the country within a few weeks of release.. or the cancellation of Legend of the Seeker on TV?

Well good on him...but to go that "all out" to announce a new book? Seems way too overdone. Not to mention, a little pretentious to go back to the original well so soon...

The man has no new ideas. Not one. He's told the same story, what, eleven times now?

Except that I don't even know how he will work the plot of this one. At the end of Confessor, Richard split the world, leaving only objectivists in the SoT universe. There's no one left to kidnap his wife.

Richard is carving yet another statue to show the world how stone can make profound changes in men's hearts. An accident happens, thanks to someone else's incompetence, and the head of the statue breaks free, striking Richard squarely in his noggin. The trauma changes our hero into a lib-commie-socialist and HE kidnaps Kahlan. Problem solved.

Great news. As for the plot, isn't it obvious? Richard, God-King of all creation, takes a 5 year vacation with his hawt wife and their hawt bodyguard. Things get hawt. But upon return Richard finds out that a small group of hippies has managed to pass a universal healthcare bill in his absence. And what's more these hippies have actually managed to convince the people that the bill is a good thing! Richard and his band of insipid followers must now set out to find the magically hidden kingdom of Republicon in order to learn how to defeat the evil hippies. I don't want to spoil it, but suffice to say that along the way Kahlan is kidnapped, jaws are kicked, spines are ripped, and holes are punched.

A Neo-Fascist Reactionary Fifth Column of ostentatiously good Objectiveist slaves, left behind to sabotage the Great Experiment. Father Goodkind teaches about the enemy within.
