Falagar
EDIT: OK Falagar, did you go back in time and make that post, or did you just prophesy which book I'd mention by name as not having been voted for in ages?I believe I saw your post mentioned in some notes left by MelquÃades some time ago. :)

Wastrel
OK, I'm calling it now. Voting is over![That said, if you do vote between now and the time I've finished playing around with the numbers, I may well tack your votes on to the end, in cases where they would make a difference]I'm not sure how long it will be before I give you results - I want to play around with different counting ideas first, and I'm not sure how lazy/ambitious I want to be with how I present the results, either. Maybe by Monday, maybe a few days more, depending on how busy I am with other things.

Wastrel
C'mon, don't insult the poor guy. I for one really want to see the results! (Also: was quite disappointed to see this thread back on the first page, but only discussion, no list yet :( )OK, my planning is: I'd quite like to be able to point people towards this list who don't necessarily know everything about all the books on it. Therefore, rather than just having an alphabetical list of titles, I'd like to give each a vague (and in most cases probably inaccurate, as I haven't read them) paragraph of background. And maybe a pretty picture. I'm less than 1/3rd of the way through that, but as I'll be posting in tranches, I can start before I've finished.I also want to have some explanations of what the list is, how the list was selected, and why it was selected that way. Which I've mostly done but need to finish. So, my current idea is:- start posting introductory posts on my blog*. Probably today? Maybe tomorrow.- start posting books on my blog. Starting... tomorrow or Sunday? Might take a week.- post condensed complete list on my blog.- post condensed complete list on this forum. In this thread, or should I make another thread? My thought is to do them in that order. People could then either wait a week or else read on my blog as I go through them. Plus, the process of going through the resulting books one-by-one will help make sure I haven't made any stupid mistakes. However, if there's a real rebellion at that idea, I'm willing to skip to stage four and post the list here for you. WiseFool
I must say, I, for one, am very curious as to the outcome of this survey and am impatiently looking forward to the resultsbut whatever you do, I'm ok with that, and I say thank you :)

Thanks again and looking forward to it!
Sheep the Evicted
Honestly i'd much rather you skipped to stage four and we got the list. If anyone is interested in the books they can very easily find a summary/review/intro/ebook online. Though i'd also be really interested in reading what method you used to get the order. Wastrel
AHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHFucking WIN.The nub used us for traffic for his blog. Check and Mate.Good for you, nub.Since you have a problem with it, I've taken the link to my blog out of my signature. I would like to clarify that my "blog" isn't a business, and isn't something I have any reason to drive up traffic to (I don't even make one post a week these days, and virtually none of interest - I sporadically put up a reaction to a book I've read, but they're usually twenty years old and of no general interest, and the other posts are almost all either artificial languages stuff or worldbuilding stuff). It's just my place on the web where I can upload things, since I didn't want to burden the thread with an essay about electoral systems, or inaccurate write-ups of books that everyone here but me has already read.I'm sad that anybody would assume that my motivations here were selfish, but I can see where people might perceive some (bizarre to me, frankly - blog traffic doesn't profit me at all) conflict of interest, so I apologise for that appearance, and for the tactlessness of my original idea.I'll post the list up here as soon as possible - either in a few minutes, or fairly early tomorrow (depending on what my friends are doing). Liadin
Yes, we can easily find covers and descriptions and reviews on Amazon. Not that a couple sentences about each would be a bad call, but 100 covers just slows down loading and isn't all that helpful IMHO.

automne
Since you have a problem with it, I've taken the link to my blog out of my signature I don't think there's anything wrong with having a link to your blog in your signature nor with posting the final list on your blog. I just think the Westeros 100 Best Books should be posted first here on the board. It's only fair, isn't it?
