Not to criticize a blessing, but...

Recommended Posts

You know how when you see a film/TV adaptation of a beloved piece of literature (just think LotR really) and the 'images' that you had formed in your head of the world is forver changed?

For instance, character's appearances, places, etc.

Is anyone else worried that after actually visually seeing a prolonged depiction of The Wall, Jaime, the Red Keep, and so forth, will change the way they imagine them while reading?

That's already been discussed at

I don't really have a problem with it. I enjoy the story and the world of Westeros, and even if the show changed my view of certain aspects it wouldn't damage my enjoyment of the series. If anything I can only see it as serving to enhance my experience, as the world would seem more real to me. I've specially sought out artwork from the series to help me visualise things and while in some cases it led to me changing my view of what people looked like I didn't feel a "loss" for no longer thinking about them in the way I did previously.
