Grumblygrew
Hello,Have just read the announcement by George of the 2011 calendar using castle pictures. Forgive me if I am wrong, but were not these the ones to be used in the World book?Has something changed?Ta David
Ran
See here, which provides info from GRRM and Picacio. Suffice it to say, the art is being used in the calendar because the deadline for the art became tighter than originally envisioned, as John reports, and since Ted's work has been done for awhile it was figured, well, why not use it?It will still be published in The World of Ice and Fire (and in fact, I believe there's at least one extra painting by Ted that will remain exclusive to the world book), as well a good helping of some other, gorgeous artwork by the likes of Justin Sweet, Amok, and probably a few other familiar names. alguien
Simply awesome! Nasmith has always been one of my favorite fantasy artists in the business, and the collaboration here is exciting, to say the least! His picture of Rivendell is amongst my most favorite works of art, ever.ETA: and glad to see Picacio is still doing a calendar. As he said on his blog, everyone wins!
