Looks like Sean enjoys his musical theater (of course I'm sure it's because it is sports related! LOL!)

Hollywood star Bean for Best musical

LORD of the Rings star Sean Bean will bring a touch of Hollywood gravitas to Belfast this weekend when he attends a special performance of the new musical celebrating the life of one of Northern Ireland's greatest sporting icons.

Bean is among the long list of well-known sporting personalities and celebrities set to attend the George Best Foundation Charity Gala Night performance of Dancing Shoes -- The George Best Story this Saturday at the Baby Grand Opera House.

The British actor -- who rose to fame playing the maverick Napoleonic Wars rifleman Richard Sharpe in the BBC TV series Sharpe - - is currently in Belfast filming the new HBO medieval fantasy series Game of Thrones in the Paint Hall Studios.

It is understood that during a break from filming, the 51-year- old approached some members of the cast of Dancing Shoes in the Crown Bar and asked if he could get tickets for the show.

Aidan O'Neill, who plays Best in the production, explained they were flattered by his interest.

Bean will join TV stalwart Michael Parkinson, ex-Manchester United players Harry Gregg, Alex Stepney and Norman Whiteside, members of George Best's family and Dancing Shoes writers Marie Jones and Martin Lynch as well as cast members at the after-show party in the Baby Grand this Saturday.

Meanwhile, the musical's run opens at the Grand Opera House tonight."

EDIT TO ADD.......

Here's a link to the Crown Bar in Belfast where Sean seems to be hanging out during breaks in filming and where he met the cast from the musical. Beautiful classy place!

Yes - I had a good look - it's normally swarming with tourists so you don't actually see too many of the features cos it's wall to wall people! But because of all the wee booths, whose doors can be closed, it can be very private even when full. The actors I saw in last week had claimed a corner booth when they got their drnks, and closed the door, so had complete privacy.
