Sibel Kekilli as Shae

Recommended Posts

Yeah yeah, she's been in porn.... Everyone knows by know.

Seriously, though. She seems like my perfect Shae, because when i read the books i sorta fell in love with her, just like Tyrion - and she fooled me, (and when she "confessed" against him, i was gutted), and looking like she does, she seems like the perfect girl to break my heart into thousands of pieces. Looking foward to it, actually...

Oh, and then getting to watch Dinklage delivering Tyrions "I've been on trial for being a dwarf my entire life!!" After Dance's cold "you're not on trial for..."..... Just... Wow.....

I guess I am the only one who thinks she isn't pretty enough to play Shae. Not that she's ugly, just nothing special, Shae should stand out a bit and she doesn't to me. never know what she'll pull off with a new hairstyle and costume, but for now this one is...meh.

Love the other 2 choices though, fit my mental images of the characters.

Tyrion thinks that Bronn had done "well enough", which isn't a ringing endorsement of the character's beauty in the books. Obviously, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but for me Ms. Kekilli is just fine for the part. My only thing is that, having looked at some German interviews/programs with her, she looks more Asiatic than I first realized, which even more strongly makes me suspect she may be given a foreign origin in the series.

That may depend on what pic/video you see of her. I stumbled onto a thread during a search for her, and someone there suggested she'd had a nose job. Looking at some of her photos after that it did look like her pronounced Middle Eastern style nose had disappeared at some point.

I think they were recent programs connected to Die Fremde. It's her facial structure and her eyes that particularly caught my attention after seeing those, though, not her nose. It's not really a big issue, but one of those things that crossed my mind as I was trying to figure out what was being said.

I agree with Ran that Shae is by far not supposed to be 'the fairest woman in the world' (these are Dany, and most likely Cersei during her time). She was the prettiest camp follower Bronn could find, but this does not mean that she outshines even Chataya's more beautiful girls.

Oh, and actually, she also has an interesting way to speak German, too. It's no Turkish accent, but somewhat exotic. I cannot put it.

If they change Shae's background somewhat (due to her accent), I think they will go the Spicer road. Making her mother some woman from the east, and her father Westerosi. But actually, Shae's background is pretty irrelevant. Tyrion and she talk about once, but they don't need to include that particular scene.

She has sex scenes with a dwarf...she needs to carry the looks for both of them. :P

Jokes aside, here's the description of her:

"A girl was with them; slim, dark-haired, no more than eighteen by the look of her..."

"He lifted the candle and looked her over. Bronn had done well enough; she was doe-eyed and slim, with small firm breasts and a smile that was by turns shy, insolent, and wicked. He liked that."

I guess it isn't very specific, damn why did I think she had auburn hair? My mental picture is completely made up I guess.
