GameofThronesJoe
I'm wondering if anyone has any info on how the show plans to approach the wildling accent? I suppose the obvious thing to do would be to place it as a Northern England or Scottish accent...
Ran
Haven't seen any information on that as of yet, but at a guess, that's the direction they would go.Note that Mance Rayder, though wildling-born, was raised by the Night's Watch. His accent would probably be nearer the "general Westerosi" which they seem to be doing for most characters, than whaever "wildling dialect" they decide to do. Bronn Stone
I was hoping the North (and particularly the Umbers) would have the Scots accent and that the Wildlings would either be Irish or Nordic.ETA - though if they reserve "Vaguely Nordic" for the Ironborn, Irish might have to suffice for the Wildlings. . Black Wizard
The Wildlings need to be Irish. At the very top of the map of the North there is the "Land of Always Winter", the Romans called Ireland "Hibernia" which means "land of winter" therefore the Wildings are Irish. Sekhmet
I've always imagined "you know nothing Jon Snow" in an Irish accent.
