Bastard.

In other AFL news, the Brisbane Lions seem to be on top of the world right now :P.

My brother, the supporter of the Burnt Toast Seagulls, linked this to me this morning, accompanied by some inane sledge.

I said that if we can sack this tosser as a result of his latest indiscretion it will free up some salary cap to get a decent midfield replacement for Rischitelli. So this is good news! ;)

Yeah, pretty pessimistic TBH. I have always confidently maintained that Fremantle will reach its first Grand Final in 2050 and win its first premiership by 2065. I see no reason to revise those estimates at this stage - Freo is a very young and inexperienced team, playing away from home, on the unfamiliar Friday Night Football stage, against a dual-premiership winning team. I would say that the odds are stacked firmly against us.

And yet...occasionally I think about the threat from the likes of Pav, Sandi, Hill, Morabito, Ballantyne and a tremor of hope passes through me. So you never know what could happen :dunno:.

Yep, reason for you guys to have some hope. If we come in fired up, though, you might be in trouble. Having said that, there is no doubt we are not the power we once were. So I'm a little nervous, that's for sure. I hope Geelong fans turn up and show some passion. I think we haven't seen a lot of that recently. Need to make your boys feel a little intimidated! By all reports, the Hawks copped that at Subi on the weekend.

I am ignoring AFL until next season, which will, of course, be the year of the Mighty Melbourne Demons!

You know what I really am liking the look of the Demons this last year, they're my unofficial "second team" in that if the Swans piss me off for some reason, I go for them.

Anyway, Swans to kick the Bulldogs' collective arses this Saturday, I'll be at the match although I went ot he same match last year (or year before?) and they whupped us :(

I've followed the Swans since I was 8 years old but only became a member in 2005 and so got to attend the 2005 and 2006 GFs (I was 30 meters from that Leo Barry mark, it was heaven), here's hoping they can go all the way in 2010.

Oh and thank Christ Gillard got back in, I'm in an NBN test area where I don't have a phone line so only have 3G internet, I want my fast internet dagnabbit!

Still just not sure about where to go. Would like to book it in soon to get better flights. Also thinking Germany/ Switzerland since we'd have free accommodation there. I've also been told to go to Portugal.

Switzerland is so so beautiful, spend as much time as you can there and do some walks. Bern (which most people don't realise is the capital) is in such a unique setting, with the most amazing blue water in the river. I also really loved the French part of Switzerland around Lake Geneva - Geneva itself which is on the western shore (if you want to be really geeky you can visit CERN, or take a tour of the UN buildings), and Montreaux at the eastern end of the lake is really nice. There's some awesome vineyards in the area, a medieval castle (chateaux) on the lake, thermal baths and the Chocolate Train!

Yeah, Subiaco was rocking on Saturday. My dad went to the game and said that the atmosphere was absolutely incredible (meanwhile I was at the Crown Casino watching bits and pieces of the game while hanging out with the anti-AFL triumvirate of Ski, Pod and Horza ;) ).

You guys probably have a good chance against WB - they really look to have fallen into a hole at the end of the season. TBH, I'm a bit annoyed that we ended up on the side of the draw that we're on. Geelong and Collingwood are much sterner opponents than WB and StK.

I thought the Dees looked pretty good too, just left it too late I think. Next year should be good. And, I may be biased but I think when the Demons play well they play one of the best looking brands of footy in the comp.

NBN is all very well, but I really hope that the internet filter dies. That is why I couldn't vote for Labour, I just considered it such an important issue.

2) I just wanted to convey how infuriating it is to not only not have dollar bills, but to be forced to use no fewer than twenty-seven denominations of coin, all of which culminate into carrying what can only be described as the weight of a small child on one's person. Which party is anti-coin and pro-bill? I would support this party. You should, too.

27 denominations of coins? I count 6... Sure you changed your money over at a legitimate place? ;)

We used to have 1 and 2 dollar bills. I believe the cost of production and maintenance far exceeded the worth. and of course coins last much much longer. thus the change to change..hehehe.

There has been talk for a long time now of a $5 coin..I hope not.

Though I rarely carry cash on me any more. It'd still be a pain. I bet my car is holding a nice sum in dollar and $2 coins. For some reason they love to escape and roll into the nooks and cranny's of the car interior never to be seen again.

$5 coins escaping to the black hole of the car is too costly in my book.

This is my first post here and it's and gonna be a bit of a drunken rant replying to comments on this last page.

As long as you can sack him without having to pay out the rest of his contract. Sure he's got a well deserved bad reputation, but this is his first indiscretion at the Lion's and look at Lovett at the Saints. He hadn't even played a game for em and they still had to pay out the majority of his contract. I agree that he should be cut, but he should never have been signed in the first place and even if he is cut he may not be the end of your salary cap woes. Voss was my hero growing up but he has some tough times ahead.

I am ignoring AFL until next season, which will, of course, be the year of the Mighty Melbourne Demons!

Go the MIGHTY DEES!!!!!!!

So many good kids. Watts, Scully, Trengove, Frawley, Garland, Grimes, Pettard, Gysberts, McKenzie, Wona, Jurah plus the rest and the old timers (Green, Bruce, Davey, Sylvia, Moloney) and then we get Todd Viney's kid in a few years (And Blease and Tapscott this guy is a beast will be awesome). Brad Green will be the captain next year, but while we're at it he could be PM with the shemozzle going on now (Why not he he's been brilliant at everything else he's done?).

And on the the shemozzle, the NBN rocks, the filter sucks and go Gamers 4 Croydon. It's about time games got treated like any other media. First time I've thought of this but why are books not classified. George's books would surely be rated M not PG. Not that I think they should be, I'm just sick of gamers missing out on stuff because this country won't introduce an R rating for games. Surely if it's up to parents to know what is appropriate for their kids to be reading it is the same for games.

So.... who wants to talk to me about t-shirts?

I love my new T-shirt. House Stark FTW!!

Though I rarely carry cash on me any more. It'd still be a pain. I bet my car is holding a nice sum in dollar and $2 coins. For some reason they love to escape and roll into the nooks and cranny's of the car interior never to be seen again.

Imagine how rich the couches would be.

Wow, lots of new people. From Worldcon I presume? Welcome!

Yeah thats me!!!

Yes, we had many noobs join in the days preceding and even during the con.

Yeah thats me!!!

Thanks for reading if you got this far, The Cats will still win the main prize. I know people like leauge but surely rugby doesn't matter untill the birth of the Rebels (Yeah maybe controversial but how can you say AFL is not the greatest game in the whole entire world??). And bring on the ashes (surely The Aussies and Poms couldn't possibly be involved in anything dodgey  ) End drunken rant
